❗️Adwick Road, Mexborough. Driving to work this morning 04:45am, this young cat was paws in the road having a stand off/playing chicken, with a female all-black cat called Jerry (know this from a message that came by chance this morning about the same tabby). Is this your tabby/white cat? (Jerry is neutered) 😀 drop me a message or comment with any info, ta! 🐾

❗️At 04:45am this morning I was driving this way to work and there was a cat that resembled this one, in the grass very close to the road. I expect they crossed the main road to get here and hunt/play. This is just to make anyone aware that owns this cat in this area that they are crossing a dangerous road in the night and you may want to consider keeping them indoors overnight, because (my last post as proof), they see a quiet road, and almost all RTAs happen after dark due to this.

🌈 🐈‍⬛ At 04:50 this morning I collected a sadly deceased cat from Sticking Hill, Mex/Adwick/Wath, he is a black and white entire male with no chip or collar found. He had some war wounds not caused by the obvious RTA, which makes me think he has been straying a while (or has been missing a while). He is now resting at Medivet, Wath; please contact them if you think this could be your cat. RIP kitty x

URGENT FOSTER NEEDED: Mama Cat & Kittens in South Yorkshire! 🆘

Can you open your home to a mummy cat and her precious 9 day old kittens?

These little ones are currently lodging in a caravan, but with this heatwave, it's simply too dangerous for them. The windows can't be opened properly, and mama is struggling to keep her kittens cool.

This poor mother has had three litters before this one, and this time she desperately needs a quiet, safe space to raise her newborns.

Here's what we're looking for in a foster carer:

📍 Located in South Yorkshire, within driving distance of our vets in High Green
🐾 Experienced with caring for cats (mum is semi feral and cannot be handled)
🏡 Has a quiet, dedicated room available (ideally a spare bedroom or similar)

💰 🍴 We've got everything else covered. We will take care of all food, litter, vet bills, and anything else mama and her kittens might need.

If you can help this little family's, please contact us ASAP! We can answer any questions you might have and help make this a smooth transition for everyone.

Share this post with your friends and family in South Yorkshire! The sooner we find a foster home, the sooner these vulnerable kittens can be safe and cool.

🐾Please note mummy cat although she’s given birth in the caravan she’s semi feral and not able to be handled 🐾

Another day. Another inbox full of requests to take in unwanted and abandoned cats. 😭

Never before have we been asked to help so many pregnant mums and kittens. 😩

We can't help them all. We just can't and it's excruciating. It's not helped by the fact the RSPCA are no longer helping strays and quite frankly we're mentally sinking under the enormous pressure.

More than ever before, we really need people to take full responsibility for the animals in their care.

We need people to stop acquiring animals they are not fully committed to caring for.

We need to educate people on the importance of neutering and population control.

We need communities to come together to support the stray cat population in their local areas.

We may not always have space to take in and rehome, but we can loan traps for TNR.

If you do one thing to support us today, please share this post and help us to drive home the message that neutering saves lives!

🌈 🐾 Sadly, a cat was victim of RTA near the old Fosters garden centre Thrybergh yesterday 04/07/24 approx 6pm.
The cat’s microchip is not registered.
Cat is a female pale tabby, a lot of ginger stripes, and a dark grey stripe on the spine.
The chip was implanted by the Pet Vet in Dalton but unfortunately they don’t have a record of the keeper. The chip numbers either side are registered and were implanted in 2016 so it is likely this cat is approximately 8 years old, but this is only investigative and may be incorrect.
If you think this could be your cat, please contact the Pet Vet ASAP. RIP kitty 😘🐾

❗️RETRACTION. DO NOT USE DCZ MICROCHIPPING❗️ a few people contacted me to ask if I chip and until recently I’ve been pointing people in the direction of DCZ microchipping and ultrasound. I don’t know her personally and hadn’t used her, I just only knew of this company locally that did mobile chipping. Two separate people have contacted me in the last week because she is NOT registering the chips she is implanting and Smart Trace who own the chips CHARGE to register.
She is not replying to any past customers querying registration which is just appalling.
So my apologies to anyone that’s used her and PLEASE before paying any mobile chipper, ask what chips they use and confirm how they are registered before going ahead!

If you have used her; contact smart trace asap to register the pet. Try appeal the charge as you’ve already paid the implanter.
Contact your bank or PayPal to try retrieve to money paid to DCZ.

If you are simply stuck for transport I will gladly offer a transport service to White Cross Vets to chip and or neuter your cat if you are stuck!

❗️Appeal for possible feeder of Sootie the cat. Sootie went missing in 2017; he had been missing for almost 8 years. Very unfortunately, he was a victim of RTA on Greens Way in Mexborough yesterday (17/06/24). He was chipped, and his owner kept their details up to date. In his years missing there was only one confirmed sighting near here in 2023. He is now back with his owners, but I wanted to post in case anyone had taken him in or even have just been feeding him intermittently since 2017, as they will now be wondering where he’s gone. RIP beautiful Sootie, finally home despite being under very sad circumstances 🌈🐾

Many thanks to Ellie for collecting him and Wendy for help reuniting

Footie fever is in the air as England, Scotland and 22 other nations prepare to kick-off at Euro 2024! ⚽

We received 1,644 reports of animals getting entangled in netting in 2023, and 773 of these incidents happened in the peak months of May, June and July.

Unattended football nets can trap, injure and even kill wildlife and pets, so please remember to put nets safely away once you've finished to prevent any casualties.

Seen a trapped animal? We’ll guide you to the best and quickest way of getting them the help they need: https://bit.ly/3VFp8yY

Small/young calico (I think female but vet can verify) no chip, no collar. Now resting at White Cross Vets in Balby. Please contact them if you think this could be your cat. RIP little kitty 🌈

Thank you to Brooke for the message. REMINDER: it is now the law to chip your cat!

🐾 I am off duty this week - see below what to do and who to contact if you find a wandering dog or cat, or RTA

RTA cat; if you can, please take them to a vet - either way, post a description and location on your local community group or lost and found pets group, and/or contact Val who I will tag in the comments
(take a photo to keep if you can as it does help reunite later on sometimes, but don’t post it)

Found cat; post a photo and location on your local community group. If the cat is approachable, put on a paper collar with your details to see if any owner comes forward, if the cat continues to return you can take to a vet for chip scanning free of charge

Advice if your cat is missing is pinned to the top of my page

Found dog; 9 times out of 10 dogs are reunited with Facebook before I get a chance to scan. Post a photo and location on your local community group and wait. Always ask for proof of ownership. If no one comes forward you can take to a Doncaster based vet or contact Doncaster dog warden on the council number 01302 736000. They close at 4 week days and 12 Saturdays and will usually collect any stray dog if you call them in good time.

If you’re not sure what to do in any situation, contact Val who I will tag in the comments 🐾

🌈 I have with me a cat that was sadly victim of an RTA last night 09th May on Clifton Hill close to Windmill Avenue, Conisbrough. The driver did stop and is very sorry. The cat is small, female, possibly grey/calico (it has been raining so colour is difficult to determine, vet described as “smoky tortie”) has a very distinctive ginger stripe on the face/head. No chip detected. Now resting at White Cross vets in Balby. If you think this is your cat, please contact me or the vets. RIP beautiful kit x
