My Mom did not tell me where we were going...until we got there! She took me to see my Aunt Julie who has a big ouchie, but my love and kisses made her feel sooo much better! I do what I can 😘. But I have missed her at work.

A lady walked by my shop not knowing I was behind the wall and said " This shop is so cute it makes me wish I had a dog." I said "Thank you. Would you like me to help you find a dog?" To which she giggled and said "No, we can't currently have one, but thank you". It made my day. 💖

Since she is feeling better now, I can say what happened.
Tues she was acting a little off. She stayed in bed even when she knew I was making dinner. She never lost her appetite, but she wanted to eat in bed.
So around 11pm Tues night I laid down for bed. Her normal place is around my hip next to me on my body pillow. But she laid on my upper arm and she was HOT and she was doing that intermittent shivering that indicates pain. So I'm out of bed now doing an all over body check. I discovered her right a**l gland had erupted just below her a**s. Sorry for the graphic image you may have now, but I did try to use technical terms. It had just broken open. After 4 hours I had cleared it, cleaned it, applied a gauze pad under her tail, wrapped her in a towel, gave her some benedryl and held her tight (how she likes it when she doesn't feel good), with 1 gauze pad change before we finally laid down to sleep at 3 am. She has been sleeping, a lot!
Today around an hour before we were leaving work, she suddenly sprang to life, begged me to get out her bed and get out of my arms so she could run to Aunt Julie for snack!
So her "wound" is scabbed & she is back to her arnry sassy self! She is healing well and from now on we will be having her glands checked every 6-8weeks. And if you know me, you know it is already on my calendar as an appt and I have started talking to people about who their fav groomer is, but only those who know Chicken and how tiny she is.

People are always surprised to discover Tuffi McChicken is not a solo pet. So, for our followers that don't know, Tuffi McChicken has 3 doggie roommates. I am going to do a few posts to introduce them and give you their back story and how they came to me.
My first small dog rescue, affectionately known as the Old Man, at 18yrs old is Papi Chulo. He came to me, I believe, at his request. After being rescued from the Mohave, AZ desert, his rescues realized he was nervous around her 4 bug dogs and decided to find him a home with a loving owner, maybe with other smaller dogs. A friend of mine called me to tell me she had adopted this little dog and wanted me to meet him and help her because she only had cats at the time. When I went over there, of course I wanted to love on him & he jumped at all the affection I was pouring on him. The whole time I was there, he was stuck to me even when I moved around. Over the next 9 days, I went over for other things, and he was always overjoyed to see me. But she told me when I left, he would look out the window for hours and eventually just go lay by himself. On day 9, she called me and said, "You meeds to come and get this dog. He apparently wants to be with you, and all he does is stare at me.". I was 2 min away at the time, and I flew over there as fast as I could! Because you see, I was in love the first time I met him. But I would never tell anyone that I felt a connection and love to their dog the way I did with this boy. I know he was meant to be mine! And he has been my shadow for the last 14 yrs. I believe he is a mix of Chihuahua & Italian Greyhound because of his body structure. Even now, at 18yrs, he he still dances on his back legs, happy to see me after work or a short trip out. He is very fond of food, snuggles with Tuffi McChicke and he grooms all the faces of every dog, family or foster. He is nurturer. He infact had a big part in raising Tuffi McChicken. She still refuses to kennel by herself and will only kennel with him.

Look what I did! 1 of a kind upcycle-recreation, fabric print never to be repeated since I don't have anymore.
Size is small, might fit up to 12-15 # dog depending on the dog. Chicken is 7 #, but the belly wrap has a 2.5-inch hook & loop closure, so there is extension room for a deep chested little dog.
