We’re thrilled to share that you can find our Giving Tree at Pets HQ (420 Bank St) this holiday season. We’re collecting monetary donations and essential supplies to help our feline friends through the holidays and into the new year.

Are you a serving or retired public service employee (including military)? If you live in the Ottawa area there’s a good chance you are thanks to the unique demographics of the National Capital Region.

If so, we have some great news for you…you can now DIRECTLY contribute to the OKR through the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC)!

As we are a registered charity, you can contribute a one-time or ongoing donation directly from your pay cheque or pension! Even better, everyone who makes a charitable donation of $20 or more will automatically receive a tax receipt, issued by the GCWCC processor, United Way Centraide East Ontario.

It’s simple: when you receive your donation form at work or in the mail, just follow the example in the picture below. In section 3, identify the Ottawa Kitten Rescue as the organization, and use registration # 769893660RR0001.

The GCWCC is the largest workplace campaign in Canada and it engages federal public service employees and retirees in a combined effort to raise funds and donate time to those in need…in this case, the vulnerable kittens and mothers we are trying to save. Limited pick ups are available, so if you absolutely can't deliver your empties to any of the sites, email us at [email protected] to request a contactless pick up.

We wanted to take a moment to thank Popsquatch Designs for their support of Ottawa Kitten Rescue! They generously donated $500 from their sales this weekend at the Geeked Out Toys show. This generous donation is greatly appreciated and will go directly towards veterinary costs for felines currently in our care.
