Chester & Noah have some news..
✨ Bonding
Whilst we offer bonding here with us, the first week or so is just the beginning of the process and it continues once home. Despite them being a compatible pairing, Lyra wasn’t an easy bond, and once home her new owner has listened to and followed our advice to the letter, working with us to secure the bond and trusted us even when it wasn’t easy to do so. I think we can all agree from this footage that she’s done an absolutely sterling job. 🥰🥰
✨ The best Black Friday deal you’ll find on the internet this year ✨
Ronnie is looking for his forever home. He is an absolute sweetheart but he has struggled with finding himself in rescue and will likely take a while to settle into his new home. With this in mind, a home with either adults only or older kids will be best suited to him. Ronnie is absolutely desperate for a friend, we feel he will be so much happier once he has the companionship he needs. He is neutered and vaccinated, usual rehoming reqs apply of 60 sq ft.
Hoping that Winston clears your Monday blues as he has ours. He arrived completely shut down with a severe mite infection, sore eyes, creaky joints and having given up on life. He is now unrecognisable and is finding happiness in his home comforts, good grub and nose rubs. Whoever adopts him will be incredibly lucky 🥰
Listen with sound. All in the name of entertainment..? Humans are the most selfish species, bar none. Thankfully these three aren’t particularly phased, but that absolutely doesn’t mean that nobody else isn’t terrified by them.
Used and abused.
Failed by humans.
Given up on life.
Untreated mite infestation, weepy eyes, creaky bones…
You’re safe now. Always.
Still not a single application for Noah & Chester, which is genuinely unbelievable. It can only be because of their age, but there must be someone out there that would jump at the chance of spoiling these older boys rotten in their golden years? Sociable, comical, incredibly special boys. Definitely a 5* retirement home required and no less 🥰
Watch to the end, this video is guaranteed to melt even the iciest of hearts..Lyra wasn’t the most straightforward of bonds, so this is just the most incredible update from home 🥰
So grateful it’s finally Friday, we’re exhausted after a full-on couple of weeks. Yesterday we spent £600 on two neuters, three health checks, an ultrasound, two vaccinations and some diagnostic blood tests. By this time next week we’ll have spent £1000 on vet bills with more booked in the following weeks. Even with the loveliest and most generous of supporters, can you even imagine how long it takes us to replenish that £1,000? 😟
If you’re in a position to help us - £1, £5, £10 - it all adds up! We would be so grateful, but most importantly than that it will enable us to continue our work. We are needed more than ever at the moment, the situation is dire & we’re fighting a losing battle - but we have to keep fighting for them.

Because piggies doing scent work deserve to break the internet….🤩🤩
Imagine being this intelligent and made to live in a tiny bare hutch down the bottom of the garden? This is the reality for so many guinea pigs 😟 Here is one of our amazing adopters training scent discrimination and clicker training with her gorgeous pig.
Lovely little Reuben enjoying his forage. Him & Roxy are looking for their forever home together. Can you help us to find it for them? ❤️ Their rehoming post is further down the page.
Have you ever seen a cheekier face than that of baby Roux? 😍 He won’t be looking for a home until the end of November once he’s six weeks post neuter, but we couldn’t resist sharing him with you ❤️❤️
✨ Let’s talk Enrichment ✨
Guinea pigs are an intelligent species but unfortunately, more often than not are housed in too-small cages with very little to entertain them. Sometimes it is just a matter of not realising, so we’re keen to showcase as many ideas as possible and hopefully improve some piggie lives as a result.
As well as the more familiar enrichment items such as tunnels, cardboard boxes etc there are a whole host of other options, some bought and others home-made. Often brain games and enrichment activities are geared towards dogs but keep an open mind as most of these are also suitable for other species, including pigs. Snuffle mats or balls, treat balls, games where food is hidden under a cup or a flap, or perhaps a forage activity mat would be a hit. Other items our piggies have and love are plastic step stools from pound shops, some love to hide under them in hay piles, others like to sit on them. Ikea dolls beds, often picked up for very little on Facebook Marketplace are always a hit too!
One of our incredible adopters clicker trains her pigs and trains scent discrimination with them, see below for an INCREDIBLE video of Barney doing just that- the possibilities are endless, let’s encourage our pigs to use their brains & improve their well-being ❤️❤️
Clara & Dottie went off to their gorgeous forever home last weekend. The loveliest family who listened to all our advice, asked questions and have done everything they possibly could to ensure these girls have the best lives. This is what makes all the rubbishy aspects of rescue bearable ❤️
Has your Tuesday felt a bit too much like a Monday? Here’s Harry, now in his forever home - a guaranteed mood lifter 😍😍😍
Whilst I’ve been busy bonding bunnies, Faith has been introducing Parsley (centre) with Hazel & Willow who were also adopted from us last year ❤️
Look at the progress these beautiful boys are making! Harry & Houdini are looking for their forever home 🥰 #adoptdontshop #adoptme #guineapigwelfare #rescueguineapig #adoptandsavealife
Happy forage Friday from the girl that has my whole heart, and boy does she know it 😂
Elvis is making incredible progress in his foster home. He is looking for a forever home with a sow friend/friends. He’s a timid piggie so no small children, but is gaining confidence each and every day and will make the most gorgeous addition to the right home 🥰 Please drop a message if you’re interested in adopting Elvis, minimum housing req 5 x 2 c and c pen.
Edit - this is a scheduled post, Elvis is now reserved ☺️
Harry & Houdini joined us last week as part of a large sign-over involving multiple rescues. These guys are super nervous and have been preferring to stay hidden away, until yesterday when we had a breakthrough and they came out for food whilst their fosterer was in the room. Fantastic progress in just a week. Onwards & upwards for these lovely boys!
