Chill and Paws is on Vacation : 8th-15th Feb 2024 ☀️ Sorry for any inconvenience 💖🐶
Christmas hours: due to the nature of the holidays, there are days over Christmas where I have no bookings. I’m not officially taking time off so if you need me it is worth asking because if I have other bookings on those days I might be able to help. Otherwise i’m expecting to be off 22nd December until 29th of December but officially Officially starting back January 2nd. 🎄💖
Apologies Friday gang no individual feedback tonight as I am at an event in London Happy doggo’s 😍🐶🐶
We are back from our holidays and enjoying getting back into the swing of it - in this FREEZING weather!! I came back to winter 🥶😱😂
As you know we don’t let the bad weather stop us - please leave Towels and coats out if you can 🙂
As of now We are on Vacation !!! 🥳
Back to work Monday 16th October - see you all then 🐶 🐱 ❤️
🐶 Let’s talk about pet well-being 🐶
At Chill and Paws we believe that every pet deserves a happy and healthy life.
Here are some ways you can join us in promoting a lifetime of well-being for your beloved pets:
🐾 Regular Vet Check-ups: Schedule a check-up with your vet to ensure your pet's health is in top shape. Prevention is key!
Are you saving yourself a tonne of money by joining your vets monthly pet subscription. Biggest bonus in my opinion are the 6 month check ups. I just beg Louie not to get ill in the meantime.
🐾 Balanced Nutrition: Feed your pets high-quality, nutritious food tailored to their specific needs.
Take a look at the all about dog food website. It gives you an all about dog food rated percentage for certain foods. The higher the percentage the more nurtrious the food. What’s cool about this is you can tailor the highest percentage (i.e. the most nutritious food) to your budget. I will warn you though ….you might be shocked at some of the most loved higher end brands as they are not as nutritious as you think *royal… *cough splutter cani…. cough 😂
🐾 Exercise & Playtime: Get moving with your pets! Daily exercise and playtime help keep them active and happy.
Well Chill and Paws have this one covered obviously 🤓
🐾 Grooming & Hygiene: Regular grooming and dental care are essential for maintaining your pet's overall health.
✂️ Side note: I used to be a dog groomer with a van.
I am forever debating whether or not to add this to my services. What do you reckon?
🐾 Mental Stimulation: Challenge your pet's mind with toys and puzzles. Mental enrichment is just as important as physical activity.
🧠 Mental stimulation in my opinion is more important than walks I know, I know weird thing weird I’m a dog walker but this is something I’m going to start talking about a lot more doesn’t mean you need to cancel Chill and Paws walkies 🥲
🐾 Love & Affection: Don't forget the snuggles and cuddles! (if your doggy likes this remember to watch for body language) Your pets thrive on love and attention.
Remember, we're here to support you on your pet wellness journey. Whether that’s expert advice or a friendly chat about your pets needs, we've got you covered! 💕
Ps - it’s actually National Pet wellness month hahah but since my last two status’s have been a national something I thought I’d leave thy bit out 🫠🐶😂
It’s National Dog Week! 😍🐶 I can’t work out if it’s US or UK but Who woofing cares 🙌
Let’s take a whole week and dedicate it to dog obsessed people (and their dogs of course) where we can shout out from the roof tops how much we love our special friends.
It's time to celebrate in style and do a little something extra to show our dogs just how much we love them.
Whether you're taking them for a longer walk, having more play time, giving them their favourite treat... Or Maybe, just Maybe you want to book them into Chill and Paws this weekend for a super duper fun walkies🐶 🐾 We still have a few spaces.
Lets celebrate your doggy’s by sharing your favourite picture of them in the comments 🥰🐶 ⬇️
September vibes ☀️🍂
Heat stress- different from heat stroke and is the point where you intervene before something bad happens. This is the point you need to take your dog home…. not just give it some water.
Know your dog - this was Louie’s limit- he’s a Brachycephalic breed which means he has a shorter nose compared to other breeds making breathing and panting less efficient.
Hopefully you can rest easy knowing that here at Chill and Paws we have your doggies best interests at heart and do everything we can do keep the doggy’s we care for cool and safe!
Give us your best tips for keeping your doggy’s cool below ⬇️ 🐶🥰
🐾 Did you know that September is Animal Pain Awareness month ❤️🩹 This is something I am SUPER Passionate about!!
WHY? Because only by spreading awareness can we shine a light on how undiagnosed pain is in animals.
At the University of Lincoln (where I studied clap clap) 😅 up to 80% of behaviour cases are suspected to be linked to underlying pain.
It’s not always easy to know when our furry best friends are in pain. But it’s important for us as care givers to watch out for the signs and do what we can to ensure our pets live without pain or discomfort.
Some signs to watch out for :
💙 Reduction in appetite
🩵 Lethargy or reluctance to move
💙Change in gait, walking and sitting positions
🩵 Over grooming a specific area
💙Behaviour change ( examples include: aggression & resource guarding )
🩵 Squinting (headaches)
And specifically for my Cavvie lovers all those behaviours that are so easy to ignore such as neck scratching, Rolling, head rubbing. The statistics are against you it is almost certain your Cavalier needs pain meds for SM/CM so don’t just put it down to’ oh he just rolls like this’
Learn your breed 🐶
What diseases are likely to affect them? Are there any signs? How old is your pet?
This month serves to encourage pet parents across the world to learn more about their pet’s health and well being when it comes to pain management. Whether it’s acute or chronic pain.
So be sure to keep an eye on anything that’s out of the ordinary and schedule an appointment with your vet if you notice something’s not quite right.
Please share any advice you may have of your experience with your pet in pain. It may well help others reading this! Share a pic of your pet along with your story/advice in the comments below. 👇
We love you Jess 🥰
A Little Bit About Us!
Jessica has been dog training for 5+ years, starting off shadowing and then teaching at Pup School Suffolk
In 2021 Jessica passed the IMDT assessment achieving a distinction in Level 3 in Dog Training and Behaviour, becoming a qualified trainer. Jessica has over 5 years of training experience and has been running PPDT for 2 years.
During 2020-2023, Jessica also attended the University of East Anglia to study BSc Hons in Zoology, graduating in 2023 with a 2:1 grade. This course has helped Jessica understand animal science and evolution. The course has helped equip Jessica with the knowledge, of how and why animals have evolved in the way they have, how domestication occurs, a great understanding of animal behaviour and the evolution of behaviour, and how animals learn and communicate. The course has developed Jessica's understanding of how animal exhibit behaviours, the hormone and emotional function behind them and much more.
In 2022, we opened our own private 30m2 dog training venue situation in the beautiful countryside of Lyng. The venue is situated next to a beautiful pond and riding stables, providing natural distractions for you and your dogs to work through. The field is entirely secure and has dig-proof fencing. Real-life training venues can help you develop your training quicker and easier outside the home than indoor training as your dogs/puppies have been exposed to the natural distractions in class.
Squad Goals 🙌🐶

This just caught me off guard - 🥺🥺 Where are the tissues - so true 🩷
Whoever they are, whatever they do, with their short lives we would do best simply appreciating more and fighting to change much less 🐾💜
If any of you lovely lot have the time to fill this survey in please do. The research done at universities is so important to ensure the evolution of the dog training world in the most ethical and effective way.

Late feedback this eve as I am still walking Clients doggy’s! 🐶 💪
Dog walker down kind of day 🤦♀️🤣 Credit to Tammy’s dog walking for this photo 🐶🐶🤣
So a nerve has been hit pretty badly today and I know nobody wants to hear the moanings of a dog walker or see these lovely pictures but today I essentially got accused of leaving my poo because I quote ‘had 4 dogs and no bags’. Hate to be blunt about it, but that’s because none of them had a s**t 🤣💩 here are some photos of the work that I do every day so no thanks or extra bonus points. Just purely because I know the bad rep the dog walkers get. I hope this makes the people think twice before accusing the person with the most dogs.
I’m not one of those dog walkers and I know it might look like I’m protesting too much, but when you get accused of it almost daily it starts to get boring 🥰🧡
Some of last weeks photo’s. The sun is shining this morning at least so let’s hope we have a warmer week 🤞🤞🥶 whatever the weather fun will be had 🥳
To accurate not to share 😅
Polite reminder from Lord Louie - that payments are due today and that there are new account details for these to be payed into located at the bottom of the invoice 🐶 he demands more money for his spending 😅❤️🐶

Happy Valentine’s Day to all the Chill & Paws gang ❤️🐾 🌹
There’s something about the 1 year milestone that is the hardest part 💔 Time has healed you a little bit but it’s still raw. Your supposed to be moving on but your still have moments in your day that catch you off guard and the shock that a whole year went by and you got through it when the last thing you remember is squeezing them tightly for the last time. But the tears now end in smiles of happy memories….
Forever grateful for you Percy. My no 1 forever and always 🥰
Expecting the cuddles this week Doggo’s x 😉
January was full of fun and sand… which is much easier to clean than mud! Can’t believe it took this long to take advantage of the beaches regularly 😂🐶
It’s because we love you more than we love ourselves 🐶🙌🥰 and we greedy 🤣
It’s FRIDAY 🥳 A week closer to Spring ☀️
It’s been a bit chilly but we wrapped up and had a great week!! Enjoy the weekend with your pups 🐶
Apologies, no individual feedback today as I’m rushing to celebrate my friends wedding this evening. Everyone got on okay despite the horrible weather I’m absolutely frozen. The doggies didn’t mind they enjoyed getting extra Muddy 🐶❤️
Great week to start the year off 🐶
Looking forward to a busy week next week now we are back in the groove. 🦮❤️
I escaped from the garden and gave my mum the run around 😈 the neighbour said to her ‘you look after dogs don’t you - or ‘try’ to haha! I embarrassed my mummy so bad !!
Merry Christmas to all the Chill & Paws gang 🥰🎄 Hope you all have a fabulous, festive time. ❤️🎄

Guess whose attention seeking has been inadvertently reinforced ever since the day I set eyes on the cute little bugger!!! 🥰🐶🤣 ok so there was nothing inadvertent about it I mean have you seen him !!! 🥺🥺❤️
Enirchment – it’s about so much more than food toys! Most dogs love food toys of course they do but it’s so much more than just the food. The dog has a choice to participate in the activity and that in itself is important. Dogs that are allowed to choose what activities they wish to partake in have more confidence than dogs whose choices are limited. The activity itself helps build confidence through trial and error and figuring out how things work the dogs confidence grows as it learns to become better at the activity. Good enrichment should allow for the dog to practice species typical behaviours. We seem to have forgotten that our pet dogs still have the desire to hunt/ chase/ scavenge and we do not provide enough activities to allow them to take part in these behaviours if they so wish. Dogs that are not given choices lose confidence, can shut down completely and/or will find other releases that may not be so favourable to the owner as food toys. It is worth noting that if your dog choses not to engage with food toys there may be a few things going on: 1- Is the task to difficult for your dog- dogs need time to learn and therefore you should always make the enrichment game as easy as it can be for your dog. 2- Something isn’t right – Does your dog lack the confidence to try? Is your dog well? Are your dogs other needs met in the environment? (this last one isn’t based on your opinion of what your dog needs, more what your individual dogs actual needs are). If your dog shows no interest in taking part in enrichment activities I would be checking that the dog feels safe enough, isn’t I’ll or in pain, or start a programme to build their confidence so they can begin enjoying natural doggy behaviours. Don’t just assume you can push a food toy at your dog and they will love it- watch their body language… are they showing any signs of feeling uncomfortable? Frustrated? What can you do to help? We shouldn’t be forcing activities on ou
