Season's greetings! As we celebrate the upcoming holidays with our furry little ones, may we also take time to prepare for their safety and comfort during the festivities. We got you covered with a few paw-friendly tips:

1. Cats are highly sensitive to noise and many are shy or nervous around strangers. Fireworks, loud music, karaoke, banging of kalderos, loud noises from torotots, the unfamiliar voices of families and guests, and all the general chaos of the holiday season can stress out your cat. We highly recommend keeping your cat safe in a comfortable room with his food, water, and litter box accessible all the time. Make sure guests know the room is off-limits so your cat won't get out.

2. If you plan to travel for Christmas and New Year celebrations, and your cat is not accustomed to traveling, it's probably best to leave him behind and ensure the area is secured so your cat won't go out on the streets which may lead to accidents. You may also consider finding a pet sitter who will visit the house at least twice a day to put out fresh food and water and scoop the litter box.

3. Keep an eye out for cats that are curious about the aroma of holiday cooking. At any possible time, they may consume food from our table that might cause them diarrhea, vomiting, or poisoning. If you think your cat has consumed poisonous food, contact your veterinarian.

By observing a few common-sense guidelines, you can share a safe and healthy celebration with your cat and give thanks for the companionship you enjoy with your four-legged family members.

Our King Blake has officially closed the kitten factory!

Did you know?

A house cat shares many behaviors with tigers - their jungle ancestors. These behaviors include scent marking by scratching, prey play, prey stalking, pouncing, chinning, and urine marking.

This answers why our little fur babies sometimes act "WILD." And for your furry friend to be truly happy and healthy, you need to be ready to feed his wild side, literally and figuratively.

1. Make time for play.
2. Invest in a scratching post.
3. Try pheromones.
4. Give your cat up-high spaces.
5. Feed them good quality meat! Not just kibbles.

As they say, you can take the cat out of the wild…but you can’t take all the wild out of the cat. Have a Wild Sunday purr friends! 😺
