With so much worldwide wanton cruelty to defenseless animals, I found it a joy to read a book so uplifting and touching.Truly, Roshen Dalal is one of the unsung heroines/heroes that inhabit the world performing kind deeds without thought of recompense or praise.
This true story takes place in India and was simply told as it happened. It deals with several of Ms. Dalal's interesting cats. I'm sure children, as well as adults, will enjoy hearing about Chou, Cookie, Fluffy and other cats in her life. Each cat had a lesson to teach, a role to play, heartstrings to tug.
These tales bring home, again and again, that no matter where you live, no matter your resources or lack thereof, kindness to animals costs truly little compared to the joy they give us, if we will only stop and observe them. I know many of us have stories we should be sharing of those fleeting moments that gave our lives true meaning, though not all of us have Ms.Dalal's talent to put our stories to paper. Lovely tales.
