We are so grateful for the connections the horses have given us in all of you❤️

I DID NOT KNOW... by Alissa Kelly

I did not know a horse could bring people into your life that end up meaning the most to you.
I did not know a horse could make the hardest days of your life bearable.
I did not know a horse could teach you to put others first.
I did not know a horse could remind you time and time again that your gut is always right.
I did not know a horse could break your heart.
I did not know a horse could pick you up when you have fallen apart.
I did not know a horse could teach you to dream again, after you thought it was not possible.
I did not know a horse could make you believe in yourself.
I did not know a horse could teach responsibility, work ethic, and dedication.
I did not know a horse could make you believe in something when no one else does.
I did not know a horse could make you learn to forgive and forget.
I did not know a horse could humble you faster than you can say humble.
I did not know a horse could make you a winner.
I did not know a horse could also teach you how to lose gracefully.
I did not know a horse could instill patience in you.
I did not know a horse could make you listen better.
I did not know a horse could give you their heart.
I did not know a horse could change your life.
I did not know a horse could do all these things...
but now I know. ❤️❤️

I wanted to share with you all a poem I heard recently that resonated with me.

"Don't take him up a mountain when he ain't been rode in weeks and don't put off the things he needs. Don't neglect his feet or teeth. Let the bit fall slowly when you drop it from his lips and get off just to check him should he ever fall or trip.
Don't slam the saddle on his back, don't be yanking on your reins, and remember, he can't tell you so be on the watch for signs of pain. Warm that cold bit up before you slip the bridle on and be patient in your training cause he's bound to get things wrong. Feed him a little heavy when that bitter cold sets in and pat him on the neck whether you lose or win. Take time to cool him out when he's worked up quite a sweat, the old timers had a right when they said don't put him away wet. If he's just standing there tied pull his cinch a little loose and don't be in a hurry, that horse should eat before you do. Lift the saddle up and let the cool wind bear back and take the pressure off his withers by tending the front of your saddle pad. Set his feet down easy when you're picking out his hooves and remember, he doesn't hurt you even though if he wanted to he could. Don't be too proud to rub his face and take the extra minute there too. To give your horse small kindnesses because he sure takes care of you.

This is jewelz. She has been with us about 2-3 weeks now. She was super malnourished, has a serious locking patella issue, has had seizures, was completely full of worms,if she lays down she cannot stand back up on her own. She is approx. 5 months old. She has colicked twice in last week. She is on umpteen million different supplements, medications, and gets fed 4-5 smaller meals per day. She is weak and exhausted. She has to be in a stall mostly to be able to not get too exhausted to walk back n forth between the hay n water. I am just over this. People breed n breed n breed and never care for these animals. She is freaking just 5 months old and has already a sh*tty life that should just not be. She probably weighs around 25 pounds.I can pick her up with ease. She should be weighing atleast 80-100 at this age. What kind of quality of life will she have when she gets older?will she still seize? Will her hips get worse or better? O have been keeping my mouth shut because i chose to take her but my god. Now i am having to decide to put her down? Or keep trying? For her is it worth it to keep going? I am normally against euthanasia. But at what point is enough for her? For her. I will keep on until there is no end but is it fair to her? And these breeders... why the hell with so many complaints are they still allowed to carry on? Why?

The fluff on her hides her skeletal figure. I cannot shave her at this time she needs the warmth of her coat for the cool, rainy weather we r getting off n on. But i just am at the point where i am crying over this baby...
