Was the night before opening day and all through cabin, not creature was stirring; not even a mouse (ok my one or two: or raccoon anyways).
Camo jackets hung on the rack with such care,
In hopes to disappear into thin air.
The young hunter tucked away in bed (well army surplus cot, “who’s got fire watch”); visions of her first deer dance through her head.
She nestled with a Woobie, and me on my rack,
I will need a doctor to look at my back (seriously; taking recommendations).
The moon and star direct their chorus,
With all of Gods creation before us.
Soon the alarm will ring to open our eyes,
To head to the woods before the Sun’s rise.
To sit so still for nothing to hear,
Only imaging what comes near.
Will it be large or will be small,
Or will a lone doe ruin it all.
This hunts for her my (not so little) Taylor,
These will be the memories I’ll always savor.

What a joy it was to be a part of the Athens Haunt Tours again this year! We wrapped our season last night with two great groups of people.
Thank you to everyone who rode with us this year and thank you to Athens-Limestone County Tourism Association for allowing myself and Wild Hearts Cowboy Carriage Rides, LLC to join in on the fun each year!

Taylor has officially completed her Hunter’s Education!! She’s looking forward to this being the first of many Hunting Seasons to come. We’re already looking at hunts in Tennessee, Alabama, and Indiana. So proud of her putting her mind to it learning the most important parts of conservation. We may have also used the course as an addition to her homeschool curriculum….sooo win win Chelsea
