Hi all! I’m looking to get a little more trailer loading sessions under my belt, so I am offering a FREE session to anyone within 30 minutes of Eagle or West Allis, Wisconsin. (Trailer not supplied, but can supply tools!)

This session can be for a horse (or mini!) who takes hours to get onto the trailer, or 30 minutes and some convincing. A horse that has trauma related fear/claustrophobia, or a horse that simply just doesn’t feel like it or is confused on what’s being asked. This sessions duration depends on the horse, and will NOT be rushed. So I can be there for 15 minutes or over an hour. If a secondary session is wanted by owner, it will be discounted simply to the price of gas. Session can be watched or can catch up on chores while it goes on!

I am willing to extended that single session to a few different people, or a couple horses at the same barn that need a little help!

Please remember this is for me to get some more experience under my belt and is a free session, I am not going to work a miracle on your horse in 5 minutes!

SOLD

FINAL PRICE REDUCE, want it gone! Too nice of a saddle to sit around!

JUST deep cleaned, including rough out, leather will be cleaned before being bought! Everything seen goes with. Will travel up to 30 minutes anywhere around and between Milwaukee and Eagle!

Double CC barrel saddle on a 01 tree. 16” seat, part suede and part snake skin type seat! Seat has typical fading from riding but still in GREAT condition. I JUST bought this saddle a little bit ago but doesn’t fit that same horse that gives me struggles! From the few times I have ridden in it, It has also been INCREDIBLY comfortable. Even before the rough out was cleaned, when the rough out was slick I rode without stirrups and was stuck like glue! Would be AWESOME for running patterned horses for the first few times! Or running those power pack horses! Rough out was cleaned up and you won’t go ANYWHERE. 16” Double CC’s are pretty hard to come by nowadays, so I snatched it up as soon as I could. But of course, doesn’t work out! Cinch and latigo holders, gorgeous conchos. Was told the first owner had it custom made and was always kept in show condition at her place! So sad to already see it go, but horses come first! Has barbwire tooling along the edges of the rough out and basket weave tooling on the leather! Also has the cinch covers on both sides! Really nicely made saddle, gorgeous leather. Many many more years on it! Horn is nice and tall, has a super deep cantle that sucks you right in! I can get those measurements if needed! Also comes with a breast collar and saddle cover! Can throw in a thick wool pad as well!

Stamp - CP1579

Located in West Allis but in the Eagle area DAILY!

$900, will take $850 if picked up and paid in full by October 3rd!

Hi All! So long since I have had the chance to post! So many exciting things have happened the last couple months. Not only did I get a new FULL TIME client horse, but also have started giving lessons a few times a week! It has been quite hectic trying to squeeze everything in as well as leave time for social media/personal life. Excited for the gorgeous fall weather, to get some great rides on my own personal horses (as well as client horses!)

Thank you all for your patience. Hopefully I can start posting more once everything settles down!

Enjoy a small photo dump! (Including some goofy Ki pictures!)

I can’t begin to put into words how proud I am to stand back and look at this mare. To talk about all the work I’ve put into her, all the obstacles I’ve followed her over, all the tears that have landed on her back, in to her neck. Ginny is just one of those horses. I can see myself starting horses on her back, ponying youngsters through trails, making such great memories. I can’t thank Avant Garde Arabians enough for the amazing foundation they put on her. I would be nowhere near where I am if it wasn’t for the level headed mindset they helped produce. I can’t speak enough about the babies they raise! ❤️

So excited to see my future with this mare. ❤️

So proud of the little green bean today... ❤️

Even with the two crazies behind her, being racked up let alone ridden for the first time in a couple weeks, she ground tied and rode perfect!

At one point (can be seen in the end of the second video), I drop the reins and just simply use a vocal cue to stop her!

Really excited to get my butt in gear and really excel on her training. No excuses, the next 30 days both of us are going to get in shape!

08/05/2020

So this is posted the following day, but Ginny got her chiro'd last night! It was such a good learning experince for both Ginny and myself. As much as I wish I would've gotten her done earlier, I am really glad I got it done now. I'll post the technical terms for you smarties, but I will give the whole appointment a quick and honest run down.

Before I give the run down, I just want to announce that I will have a handful of posts going up in the next couple days about what we did with out week! So make sure to be on the lookout for those!

So the thermography wasn't really eventful. She stood really great for the pictures, and she did great with out chiro's big block! I guess being werid with a mounting block does have some positives! Once we were done with the thermography as well as getting all our information into the system, she started her magic on Ginny!

She started by just simply feeling around and getting an idea on what needs to be done. The entire time, she was telling me what she was doing, and what was where. That made me feel a whole bunch more comfortable for sure! The first thing she did was work on her poll, this was the most eventful part of the whole appointment. Poor Ginny was so so senstive... This was the only part of the whole appointment that she struggled with. Everytime the chiropractor went to adjust her, even when she went to step back on her block, Ginny would start backing up. Throwing her head, and "rearing" (she wouldn't do so until she was out of our space and only came up about a foot of the ground). Which that is such a strange reaction for Ginny, so I could tell she was in some serious pain. Half way through, Ginny got a break. She already
started looking more comfortable and handling the situation so so so much better even after such a short time! The rest of the poll adjustment was pretty uneventful with minimum refusing. She said that was one of the most severe polls she has seen in a while so yet another reason I was so glad she got adjusted! The chiro did say she wasn't showing discomfort, it was only when she would put pressure on specific points. She also said that could've been caused from either a trauma (she hit her head on the trailer when someone else was unloading her a few years ago, which is where we are thinking it came from) or from pulling back.

Then she moved to Ginny's back. Ginny was already using her body so much better at this point. She was also so relaxed! Ginny really enjoyed having her back done. And she was only out in a few common spots. She stood like and angel for this, as it wasn't really uncomfortable for her. She was only out in two places in her withers, and three places in her back.

Finally, she moved to her legs. She only had to adjust one place which was her right front elbow. She said she had perfect legs which was super awesome!

Before leaving, she did a saddle check. I wanted to have my saddle checked that way if it wasn't ok, I wasn't causing further damage by using an ill fitted saddle. It took her seriously 60 seconds to check it. She said my saddle fit Ginny perfect, she followed up by saying she usually has stuff to say about a saddle so that was great to know!

I am so proud of how Ginny handled today, and in about 2/3 days she can go back into work as long as she is all comfortable. We will be keeping a close eye on her to make sure she stays comfortable, and we will possibly have a follow up in a month or two for a check on her poll. I will also be getting a theraputic poll piece for her halters to possibly further the "recovery".

Now for the part we have all been waiting for. The terminolgy on where she was out!
~ Occiput, C1, C3, T4, T5, T15, T16, T17, T18, L1, L2, and right Ulna.

Overall, now I know where we need to improve with out work-outs, as well as the actions we have to take in order to keep her comfortable!

Ginny wasn’t too happy with my shenanigans... she gave me the opportunity, I TOOK IT!

Also, on a good note. The other day we really struggled with getting a fly wipe over her eyes. She’s super sensitive with not being able to see, which is a summer project! I went to wipe over her eyes and she kept walking past me, throwing her head in the air, pushing into me, etc. So today I made sure to halter her up and take it slow. I started with her forehead, went to her ears, then to her nose, under her chin and then proceeded to her eyes. I did a LOT of approaching and retreating with any sign of relaxing. I swiped over her eye, no issue! So I immediately released. Did it two more times with no issue. Went to the other side (new side, different brain!). She didn’t even hesitate, she had no issue! So she got rewarded and released!

We all had a bit of fun today! Ki does so so so well with this tool, and I’m so proud ! ❤️

HKPP has something really big coming tonight/tomorrow!!

29/04/2020

Today we had to throw a new round bale in the feeder. Which one thing about both girls is the second they see the skid steer, they are in love! Ginny will walk behind it, Ki will walk next to it. So they wind up getting in the way (which I don’t mind, since I’m so happy they are so comfortable with it. I just don’t want them getting hit.)

So at the end when we were going in and out with the ATV/Skid Steer, I haltered them. But the funny part is, I only had three lead ropes. Two were accompanying hay bags to keep them on the pole. So we had to improvise!

Ginny got halters with the lead rope in case she were to spook (which is rare! ), I would have more room to work with her! So what was I going to lead Ki with. We got real handy today. The only thing I could find, was a set of side reins. So we used them! And Ki did great! That is one thing I always love doing with my horses. Weird = quiet!!

I just had to share as I thought it was funny. 😂

27/04/2020

Yesterday was great! And I am genuinely really proud of myself as well as my girls to say that! So much good happened yesterday.

First to start the day, we bought apples. For some reason, that morning I just had the idea to throw some apples in and give the girls something to do. The girls LOVED it! Both girls had a bunch of fun, but Ki was for sure in love with it! She stood there for at least 30 minutes, went an ate some hay, then went back! She had the silliest ways of getting the apples. She would wiggle her lip around it, she would push it against the side of the trough, she slurp it. From just throwing a few apples in, the trough went down at least an inch in 2/3 hours! Not only is it a brain teaser for the girls, it also helps keep them hydrated which I love!

After a couple minutes to play in the water, we got to working! Now today, both girls got to experience something completely new! And both girls took it like champs. I want to get both girls engaging their hind quarters more during lunging. Ki needs to build her muscles in her hind quarters more to help her old pasture injury. And I would also like to work on Ginny's that way she can use her body to the full ability under saddle and while lunging! So we used a surcingle with a polo loosely place around their hind quarters. It wasn't to train with (yet), but just to see how they will handle it as well as get them used to it! They acted like they did that every single day. I was so proud of how well both of them took it like it was nothing! Even without it being tight or snug, they immediately started lowing their heads and engaging their hind quarters!

So proud of the goofy girls, I am so excited to get this nice weather going. I can finally kick my butt in high gear and work on all of my summer goals with them!

(Also, Ki is getting grey hairs on her front leg that doesn’t have any markings!! She’s getting to be an old lady!)

I GOT AN APPOINTMENT FOR GINNY! Her new chiropractor will be coming out Thursday morning! If you saw the previous post, Ginny's last ride she seemed very stiff to her left and her performance was way down. So I figured it wouldn't hurt anyone (but my wallet) to get her checked out!

While the chiro is there, Ginny's saddle fit will also be checked to eliminate that as a potential issue. I'm excited to see Ginny comfortable once again! This will be Ginny's first appointment ever, so I am super excited to see how she handles that!

Always listen to your ponies!

So this is going to be a rough and honest post. Today was a struggle... Ginny and I both REALLY struggled today. But I learned a lot.

I will be finding a chiropractor and setting up an appointment for Ginny. Today was just going to be a quick 'hop on for a little and end on a good note.' Unfortunately, that isn't what happened. Ginny was walking forward which was an improvement from last ride! I hopped on, and right as I got on she started walking away which is something she never has done. Alright, she is just feeling a bit fresh after not being worked for a little. That's okay, I can work with that! I stop her and have her stand for a few seconds. I ask her to walk forward and she does it immediately. She starts throwing her head and just popping her legs up. So I ask her to circle to the left, she is throwing her head, circling fast and trying to pop her hind quarters up. That doesn't slide with me. So we continue until she chills out circles nicely. She does so, so I hop off and work her on the ground.

She lunged really nice. Primarily stays in a nice circle, we trot and switch directions. Once she is licking and chewing, I stop her and give her a little bit to think. I throw my reins back on, and try mounting from the ground. The second I put my weight in the stirrup she was thrown way off balance. Okay, I'll use the mounting block today. (I should've realized by now, but I clearly wasn't thinking.)

I get back on, and again she walks right off at a very fast walk. So instead of stopping her I ask for a circle. As soon as I started asking, she again began spinning fast, popping her hind a lot more. Once she circled nicely, I ask her to walk forward. A few steps forward she starts throwing her head down and trying to buck. Here we go circling again! We circle both ways, she starts circling nicely so i let her have her face. I ask her to flex to the right, no issue, she comes in good, and has her neck straight. I ask for a flex to the left, and she really struggled to bring her head around. Her head was high up in the air, her nose was turned in and trying but she couldn't flex nearly as well on this side. We walk forward and no funny business so I hop off.

At this point she is still saddled and i'm thinking about how odd that was. So I do a tiny little ground work session to test my theory. Lunges good to the left. Walk, trot and canter with really no issue. We switch sides and go to the right. I could see she wasn't tucking her nose in as much, that her reaction time was slower, and she tried everything in order to save herself from cantering. I called her back in, and had her sit tied for a couple minutes while both of us thought.

She stood tied with no issue, She really really tried today. And I am so proud of her.

Long story short, I strongly believe she is experiencing a bit of discomfort to her left side. I will be getting her chiro'd asap, but until then, it is strengthening that left side. She gave it her all and I am so so proud of her for that.I'm also so glad she was showing her pain and discomfort so I was able to get in charge of it before any serious damage mentally or physically occurred!

Even after rough rides, we nap on shoulders!

22/04/2020

This mare is just way too sweet!

We had a rough ride the other day. I did something that confused her, which blew off our whole ride. But we ended on a good note! Her turns were great, her backing up was amazing. Even with so many distractions she did so good.

Hopefully next time we ride is better!

After I hopped of Ginny, I hoped on KiKi! And our ride was amazing! She tacked up like a dream (even though we mainly ride ba****ck now) her walk, trot, canter, turns, direction changes, stops and back ups were incredible! We were trotting and I said whoa super soft, and sat back deep. She stopped on a dime like it was nothing!

So proud of these gals, hopefully the weather stays nice! I’ve been having a blast with them!

We found out that day that Ki very much loves candy apple mineral blocks!

After Ginny and I’s fail of a ride, she did fall asleep on my shoulder. Which I was dying over! She is such a sweet mare ❤️

18/04/2020

Look at this little mare go! First ride in forever, and rode like a charm! Even when asked to trot, it took little effort to ask her for a trot. And her stops/back ups?? Holy moly were those incredible!

Without any training or help with this, I asked her to back up yesterday when riding. She drops her head immediately as starts backing easy as can be! She backs up soft and smooth.

She’s very soft with her face, she turns so easy! When asking to stop, I barely even have to touch her face, I’m able to mainly use my seat with a tiny bit of contact!

Her trot is so incredible smooth and steady! She has a nice slow trot, but you can also ask her for a faster extended trot no issue! Both are so easy to sit!

She absolutely loves being worked! She stands perfectly when I mount, and does amazing sending off! We walked around the entire pasture on this ride! Which is so incredible, as she can be a bit buddy sour to Ki.

Ginny blows me away every single day. And even our second ride today was amazing. We had so many distractions, and she still did incredible! So excited to see our future, and what we excel in!

29/03/2020

I think we are all a bit excited for this shedding season to be over! I want my shiny horses back! I’m excited to see how Ginny looks with her slick summer coat.

Can’t wait for the warm weather not only for that, but to start working a bunch more! Get Ginny started and work on her gaits and work on Ki’s weight as well as Liberty work.

Once the weather warms up, it’ll be bath time for both girls! First bath in a while for Ginny, so we will have to see how well that goes.

28/03/2020

Although Ginny is a pro with all and any whips, we still practice a BUNCH with them! Whether that be snapping big lunge whips all around her, putting them on/against her back legs, smacking it on the ground back and forth, etc.

Today, after running around for a bit we worked with the driving whip! Tapping it under her belly, rubbing all over her face, touching near her tail, touching between her front legs, rubbing it along her back as well as touching her ears with it. Of course, she didn’t even bat an eye!

This not-so-little mare never fails to impress me!

Really lucky with this little mare ❤️ 6 y/o endurance bred Arab, not even 20 feet away a loud skid steer drags the paddock and she sleeps...

This is also the same horse that will follow the skid steer, not even budge if the 4-Wheel comes at her, and sits in front of the truck while trying to move hay... as annoying as it can be, I am genuinely so lucky she is so well with all of these things!

23/03/2020

Weird weather = light work!

How do you work your horse during weird weather?

Depending on the horse, I usually just free lunge. The horses go the pace they feel comfortable at, they make the turns and direction changes in safer places! Or if it’s not horrible weather, just a small and quick ba****ck ride around the paddock!
