Just a little post guys about grass seeds.
Please please check your furbabies whe they come in from outside, particularly under their bellies and paws .
This week I got a frantic call to a client as her little miniature pinscher was distressed after coming in and she thought it was a tick .. it was a grass seed . Now i managed to remove it and all was well (Please don't try that unless your sure you know how by the way), however honestly the pain this little soul was in beforehand broke my heart, and a visit to the vet was still advised to ensure all was well.
I do know of a dog some years back that got a grass seed embedded in his paw and needed surgery to have it removed so honestly it's worth a little look and to try and keep your grass down and avoid long grass if you can 🐾🐾

All appointments were moved for this little fella this morning (thank you to my clients for understanding ) because he has a occasion he sadly cannot miss . Apparently he was a bit nervous of grooms ...I think being in a home environment helped ..turns out he loves a bit of daytime TV !! ..I think one of these photos shows there were definately no nerves by the end of his visit . This boys owner wanted him quite short and so the spaniel skirt wasn't needed for this boys groom
Truly a beautiful dog and a credit to his owners . Another fab client , and I think at 9 years old he definately deserves a MASSIVE gold star and of course a snooze🌟 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

This morning I had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful lady .
Her mummy told me she needed her claws trimming but was nervous of other dogs .. as she was exceptionally local, I suggested that I visit her domain rather than her visit mine at the moment with so many unfamiliar smells and dogs.
This I hoped would enable her firstly to have a good sniff of me and indeed my dog on my clothes, work me out a little bit and realise I wasn't a scary monster and associate me with treats and fuss .
Lola has an incredibly long wick on her claws so she only needed them grinding down a tiny bit and behaved impeccably

Today we talk the dreaded ticks!!!!!

It's almost a swear word for dog owners as these little critters are truly awful.
Please check your dog for any lumps,bumps and ticks after every walk/ outside time, even if they are treated and on prevention regularly.

If you find one there's lots of info on how they can be safely removed . If you feel you just can't do it, a groomer may be able to help dependent on how much the tick has imbedded itself, or a vet however there are fab tick removal tools on the market now that make it not quite the squirmist job it once was. If in doubt please check with your veterinary practice 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

Yesterday I had the pleasure of being invited by appointment to meet a beautiful rescue dog at a centre about an hour away from here in Huntingdon called Woodgreen pet charity who featured on a fab doggy show called the Dog House on Channel 4 (you can catch it on all 4).
We went for our first meeting to meet a lovely boy called Tango who may well be joining our family depending literally on whether our current boy Prince gets on with him tomorrow (fingers and paws crossed)
Tango came in as a stray to them but has passed all his behaviour assessments with flying colours . His 4 years old and is a lurcher type.
Truly a magnificent boy
I cannot recommend them enough if you're looking for your next four legged pal .
Here's a brief video of me and my youngest daughter meeting Tango for the first time yesterday. We felt honoured as we're told his normally a bit shy on first meets ..but by the end of the session this boy was sprawled on the sofa next to us for belly rubs . Honestly a beautiful dog .

This evening it's all about nails. That tell tale click clack noise tells you your dogs nails may be due a trim !!!!!
They're a pain right ~ as a dog owner I get it completely and it's a job that many owners and in truth some groomers dread.
Now you can file down your pets nail by pavement walking but ultimately they're going to need their nails trimmed regularly to stop bacteria and to prevent them becoming too long and causing pain and if they grow in on themselves infection and a costly vet bill!
It's important to remember your dogs dew claws as well if they have them (these are at the side of the leg)

If like my boy your dog doesn't overly enjoy nail clipping time and you find the whole thing a time of stress we are happy to book in your pet just for nails ♡
Here's my boys this evening as due to the hot days he hasn't had any pavement walks at all and his nails were frankly far to long . Here his nails have been clipped and filed prior to grooming .
