I know this is a long read, but I wanted to throw this out there for y’all , who may be sitting on the fence about who to send your c**ts out to or who to have train you. I believe what makes a horseman great is there philosophy which guides their approach to every horse! There are so many methods and techniques out there , and the followers of those have become quite cultish . This has hurt the industry in so many ways, because it’s no longer about the horse and what THEY need but rather what method makes it easier on the person. Instead of deeply educating yourself about your horse, many look to a step by step process that may not even help the horse, yet they blame the horse for their lack of education, the following is our philosophy here at Until Grace Horsemanship , it’s made up of two principles. I hope this is helpful.

1. Horsemanship through the eyes of grace: as God approaches mankind with understanding of their nature, to show them the true way to find their potential through his will, through his goodness, we approach our horses with that same mindset of grace, showing the horses that it is ok to make a mistake as long as they are striving to correct them and pushing for excellence in following our will.

2. Our process is guided by these principles of: Feeling of them, For them, and then both feeling together. This describes the process of growth within a relationship. First is getting to know the horse, while they get to know you( aka dating stage). Second: once you know the horse , the relationship begins to get more serious with expectations (aka Engagement stage) Third, after you know each other and have set expectations you can move forward with understanding and adaptation to bring about an harmonious partnership built on trust and knowledge of one another.

Therefore our philosophy of horsemanship is to be selfless in the creation of a bonding relationship through the lenses of faith and grace which results in true harmony and oneness.

This horse had quite the troubled past and could do all her groundwork perfectly, I could ride her ba****ck , you could saddle her and she wouldn’t buck, but as soon as that leg would swing over in the saddle she would bring her head up like a giraffe , scared out of her mind. Due to some other trainer who thought it would be a good idea to buck her out , this sweet mare was scared of being ridden in the saddle.

After a hard buck off, i collaborated with a good trainer friend of mine to get a second opinion cuz I was stumped, he said that based on how well she did her groundwork and saddling while being super relaxed, he would have gotten on but that’s where the problem was, in the saddle.

With a little more time, patience and breaking it down into super tiny steps we rode today saddled and in a snaffle walk/trot with no bucking.

I say all this to say, never get stuck in a rut of your training program, it’s easy to do, this sweet mare, Daisy, taught me how to humble myself and really think about what she needed!!!

God never just forces us into a mold, he helps us develop to be who he truly wants us to be as his children and this is how every horse should be trained

Howdy y’all I just wanted to post the address for the UGHM problem solving clinic if anyone wants to show up to audit!! The address is : 5475 County rd 401, Floresville, TX ! Do not click link, copy and paste otherwise it will take you 20 miles south of the actual address!! Clinic sign in is at 9 am and start time is 10:30 am!! Lunch will be provided!!
