Help Ruby find a forever family!
Happy Valentines Day!
At 6 pounds, Mercedes may be our tiniest client currently, but do not underestimate this little lady. She is full of s***k and her agility is astounding. She’s just beginning our six week basic obedience package covering sit, down, place, stay, come, leash walking and leave it. Message us if you’re interested in how these commands could help improve your and your dog’s quality of life!
Found somethin!
Reese is one of the wildest doodles I have ever met. You think your dog’s jumping is out of control? Reese has your hyper dog beat! In fact, he may host a contest just to prove that he’s crazier than every other dog out there. But there’s still hope for this goober, he’s extremely smart and is learning to channel his energy into training. Look how calm he is here on place. These brief moments of composure are becoming more common and he’s well on his way to becoming a model citizen.
It’s Sunday, find yourself a good stick and enjoy the day!
These two handsome brothers both have trouble with strangers coming to their home. Red (left) is fearful and can’t stop barking and trying to get away. Beau (right) would rather eat you if you make the mistake of walking through his door. They keep their mom safe, but also make it impossible for her to have visitors. But with the right techniques, we plan to change that!
Coco the house hippo is starting treadmill training! This is her idea of getting started hahaha. Just kidding, she made a valiant effort as soon as she found out there were snacks involved.
Treadmill training is one thing you can’t rush, you have to start slow and make it a positive experience for your dog. Step One: give them treats for standing on the track while it’s not moving. Leave a comment if you’re curious about the next steps!
“If I fits, I sits”
Training your dog helps stimulate their mind, foster bonding, and improve their quality of life. Consider taking them to doggy bootcamp or teaching them some tricks at home to join in the celebration this month.
Meet the adorable Ginger. This lady is having issues allowing guests into her home. Currently her dad has to take her on a walk whenever anyone comes to the house just to avoid aggressive episodes. But we’re teaching her the “place” command along with other manners and desensitizing her to strangers. Stay tuned to see her progress!
“some assembly required”
Abby doing her best for help keep Stevie focused during training so they can both get more snacks. Thanks Abby!
Got snacks? Time to train! Pro tip: take advantage of the times your dog is hungry or bothering you for attention to turn those into training sessions - even if it’s brief.
Jack is beginning the more advanced stages of his training journey. He is learning better manners around his ancient doggy sister, place stay while people enter the house and the beginning of a high class leave it. Stay tuned for more great things from this handsome boy!
More proof that old dogs can learn new tricks! At a gentlemanly ten years old, Sheldon is learning much better leash manners and loving it! Way to go Sheldon, show those young whippersnappers how it’s done!
Rainy days = trainy days. Fun fact: training with your dog is said to be four to five times as tiring as physical exercise. So put your pup’s brain to work and then take a nice nap!
Special shout out to Wigglewow because their dog treats are a fan favorite at Loyal K9 and because they employ people with special abilities. Thanks you all for everything you do to provide great products for our dogs!
Getting the new year started the right way - snuggles and naps!
Happy Birthday 2023!
I received this update picture from Otis recently. He learned a lot from his puppy training with us, so his mom contacted us with a follow up question. We always welcome follow ups with our clients, we consider this a lifelong pawtnership! If you ever have a training concern don’t hesitate to reach out!
Meet the adorable Tippy Lew. She is seven pounds of s***k, ready to take on the world - but first, some manners please!
Tippy did a fantastic job of working through her puppy energy to learn sit, down, place and stay all during our first one hour session. Excellent job Tippy Lew, you’re going to do great things!
New puppy for Christmas? Don’t wait until you have puppy problems to try training. Contacting a professional right when you get a new puppy or dog can be a huge help to a successful transition into your home. Of course if you already have puppy problems we’re here to help with those too.
What you mean we have to take the tree down soon?
Pantry Thief strikes again! Clearly Logan needs to learn “leave it.” If your dog often steals objects, try teaching them a solid leave it command, it’s one of the most handy obedience ideas.
What you mean the holiday leftovers are gone?
Practicing some basics during our Christmas break, the fun never stops!
Pepe the pirate found his Halloween outfit while wrapping Christmas presents and insisted on wearing it so he could plunder Santa’s sleigh. Clearly he was successful in finding his new ball among the “buried” (wrapped) treasure.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
Have a pup that’s been naughty this year? We can help!

As a service dog in training, “heel” is especially important for Stevie’s future career. She loves learning new things! If you could benefit from a service dog, contact Loyal K9 today. We train autism assistance, seizure alert, mobility assistance, psychiatric service dogs and more.
Freya attended our board and train program to overcome some behavior issues that were seriously affecting her relationship with her family. But check out this down stay out in public! She’s come such a long way and is now able to maintain her composure regardless of all these distractions.
Monday already?! Training should always be something fun you can look forward to after work. Try something new with your dog today.
This is the kind of practice I love to see! Having a solid release command for your dog is crucial for their safety. Without a clear release command your dog will decide on its own when they are done staying, a consistent release command makes your dogs’ stay reliable. Great job you guys, and thanks for sending the progress video!
Brutus is practicing his down stay and leave it at the same time with the added distraction of a new dog. Excellent work Brutus! (Ranger didn’t quite understand that the treats were on the table so he went to Brutus’s mom for a cookie instead lol)
The Maples Park in Crestwood is one of my favorite places to train. If you haven’t been there, I highly recommend it. #dogtraining #advancedobedience
