Really nice review just appeared on Amazon today, from someone called 'LBA': ".....I have a very sensitive dog and this book helped me loads, creating a much closer shared bond even more so. I actively listen to my boy now to understand what he wants, needs and dislikes. Even down to the way in which I cuddle him has changed. He would often get up and leave because it was too much, now I can sit gently by his side and wait for him to snuggle in. He tells me where he wants to walk and if he wants to sniff a blade of grass of ten minutes then now this is what we do, it’s his time after all.
The story of Rosie and Hagrid is beautiful and heartfelt. I wish everyone would take their time to carefully listen and support their dogs because to me they are family and when you work together you can become even more of an amazing team.

Hi everyone! First off, thanks for 'Liking' this page. Secondly, some people are reporting that when they go to Like, they get a Facebook warning about the page possibly contravening Facebook Community Standards. Have you ALL had this warning? So! The books FINALLY arrived today, after a few days' frustrating delays in transit. The first 20-odd have gone into the post. Stef Dawson finally won his battle with PayPal, the 'buy now' button works on the website, Rosie and Colin have spent much of the day carrying the books into the shed and stacking them on the shelves. When Rosie Lowry decided to take home Hagrid, a two year old Mastiff with health issues, little did she know what kind of a life journey she was embarking upon.

That journey was one of learning for both human and dog. In an effort to deal with Hagrid’s changing needs, Rosie had to venture into uncharted territory. Life with Hagrid was a rollercoaster ride, with experiences ranging from dealing with unwanted behaviour to more health issues than Rosie had though possible! Working with vets, exploring complementary therapies, finding out more about diet, venturing into self-selection, Rosie’s journey included a foray into many of the practical issues surrounding dog guardianship. One key piece of advice leading from this: learn to question.

However, dealing with Hagrid’s physical needs of course was only one aspect; there was also the process of building a trusting relationship and overcoming emotional issues. Even the everyday, ordinary aspects of life proved to be a challenge that Rosie had to rise to.

This is Rosie and Hagrid’s story.
