3 cycles of shoeing can make all the difference in the world! This mare has been shod 3 times since coming off the track, at 4 week intervals, and look at what a difference it has made! This mare gets plexus pad on the right front 3° wedge, and a flat frog support pad on the right front, with rocker toes on both and shoes.

Not every day is fire, smoke, and nails! Today, Golden Boy got his glushoes redone so he can continue to be comfortable on gravel and pavement, as well as continue his successful eventing career. These shoes are a great alternative for horses who struggle to be relaxed during the nailing process, but still need the added protection that shoes provide. Before and after for a sweet 31 y/o draft cross in size 4 with a rocker toe to make the old guy's life a little easier. Upon turnout, he went rocketing across the pasture, so I will take that as a positive review 😂

This 20-something year old Belgian was evaluated and trimmed today with the help of dormosedan given by the horse's veterinarian. He suffers from a multitude of problems, as can be seen by the rad. Today's goal was to remove the enormous lever he had at the toe, as well as debride the toe crack. Upon completion of debridement, it was decided that we would not need to stabilize the toe crack.

He was packed with magna paste and will be monitored for comfort. After a few days with the packing, the owner will continue to treat with thrush buster or similar. In 4 weeks, myself and the vet will come back and re-evaluate his comfort level, take new rads, and possibly apply a shoe if his comfort level allows for it.

Something a little different today. This gypsy vanner cross received an application of to help with his comfort level on gravel. Hopefully, he likes it, and this will help him to be more successful and comfortable in his career.

I love seeing the improvement in horse's feet over time! Before are pictures of this lesson pony's feet the first day I shod him (before working on him), and today, my last time shoeing him. A year and a half in between pictures, and no more glue, no more white line disease, and more importantly, no lameness!

Is it time to replace your bell boots? Once a bell boot has fulfilled it's purpose for months on end, it may become time to retire those that are no longer up to s***f. If the bell boot no longer covers the heels of the shoe regardless of how it is twisted, chances are, it isn't performing as well as they could be, which can cause your horse to not be able to perform similarly. No one likes when the horse pulls a shoe, farrier included!

My percheron got the special treatment last week! Direct glue shoes in front, heartbar on one hind with dental impression and a hospital plate on one hind, and an open heeled shoe on the other hind. Front made by me, heart bar made by , nailed on by Dion O'Brien, open heeled shoe made by . Always fun to work as a team!

Eggbars made at the horse for medial suspensory branch injuries on both hinds. Its always a good day when the horse walks away happier than how he walks up.
