Pesto is a fun-loving puppy who isn't letting his rough start stop him from having a fun time. He loves playing with other dogs at the shelter and has enjoyed a good weekend foster home to take a break from shelter life. This pretty boy has a zest for life! He loves people and other pups, and wants to run around just as much as he likes to snuggle!

Ideal Home: The ideal home for Pesto would be one that is looking for a dog to be integrated into their life. He doesn't like to watch from the sidelines. Although he will settle after a walk or play time, he is a young pup and wants to be included on car rides, walks, dog time, etc. He does not necessarily need other dogs in the home but they would help give him activity time.

Name: Pesto
Breed: Lab mix
Age: ~10 months
Weight: ~35lb

Medical: Previously treated for parvovirus on 5/27/24 and has not had any illness since that treatment was completed.

Meet Crunchy, an 10-month-old black lab mix with the floppiest ears and the cutest smile. Her wiggly nature and endless happiness make her the perfect bundle of joy. Crunchy loves meeting new people and has a knack for showering them with love and kisses. Running and playing are her favorite activities, and she brings a burst of energy and cheerfulness wherever she goes. She loves playing with other dogs, is almost house trained and does well in the crate overnight! She has been around older children and did very well; enjoyed attention but was comfortable when not receiving it. She was in a temporary foster home with her doggy friend Stuart and got great reviews! Regarding children, the foster said "We have a total of 6, but they mostly were around the 13-, 16- and 17-year-olds. The pups were great and playful with all. They loved attention, but weren't needy. We would be outside watching them, and whenever they got tired of chasing each other, they would just come lay down by us."

Ideal Home: An ideal home for Crunchy would be one that is looking for an active dog to be a friend to theirs or to integrate into an active lifestyle. Crunchy has a resting side when she is done playing so she is not energetic all the time but would need a home that is wanting a playful and active dog.

Name: Crunchy
Breed: Lab mix
Age: ~10 months
Weight: ~35lb
S*x: Female, spayed
Colour: Black
Medical: She was treated for parvo virus on 4/23/24; while undergoing treatment in the isolated parvo ward at a medical center, another dog in the ward (kennelled separately) was diagnosed with Distemper. Crunchy has recovered from parvo (negative) and has not shown any signs of illness since her recovery!

Good with men: Yes, friendly and outgoing
Good with women: Yes, friendly and outgoing
Good with kids 0-6: Unknown, no exposure
Good with kids 6+: Yes, has lived with children and does well
Good with dogs: Yes, loves being around and playing with other dogs. She loves other active dogs; she is playful and energetic, very puppy-like energy and enjoys meeting other dogs and playing with them!
Good with cats: Unknown, no exposure
House trained: Almost perfectly house trained - about 90% there
Crate trained: Enters crate willingly, settles quickly and quietly
Resource guarding: None seen
Walks on a leash: Yes, but pulls
Energy level: Medium-puppy

Hi there, I'm Stuart! I'm young and full of life. I love exploring and finding new things to sniff and play with. My curiosity knows no bounds! I'm also a bit of a goofball, I love to make people laugh with my silly antics. I already mastered the command "sit" and patiently wait for my treats. I went on a little staycation in a foster home and the foster reported that I only went potty outside in the yard and I quietly slept in the crate. They also gave me a nice bath, which i looooved! I'm looking for a furever home where I can share all my love and energy. So, why not consider adopting me? I promise to be your best friend and the most loyal companion you could ever ask for! He was in a temporary foster home with his doggy friend Crunchy, and got great reviews!

Ideal Home: The ideal home for Stuart would be one with either another dog or an active family such as walks, back yard time, toys in the house. Stuart is a typical puppy and just likes to be a part of the fun but is not overbearing. The continued confinement at the shelter is hard for him wanting to be so active and play all the time. He enjoys chew toys a lot. He is easily walked and handled every day and by several different people. Many dogs aren't meant for shelter life as stressful as it is so just want this to support his need for an active lifestyle and/or other dog to help him play. I don't believe he needs extra stimulation but just not intended to be a couch potato dog. He was adopted at 4 months old and was in a home for 3-4 days. The adopters reported that he was grumbly towards people at the door. Likely from knocking as the temp foster home reported that he would bark when someone knocked but didn't have any issues with them entering. Has greeted all strangers happily!

Name: Stuart
Breed: Terrier mix
Age: ~9 months
Weight: ~30lb
S*x: Male, neutered
Colour: Tri-colour, brindle
Medical: No concerns

Good with men: Yes, friendly and outgoing
Good with women: Yes, friendly and outgoing
Good with kids 0-6: Unknown, no exposure
Good with kids 6+: Yes, has lived with children and does well
Good with dogs: Yes, loves being around and playing with other dogs. He loves other playful dogs; he likes to run around the yard and play with another dog when outside, not sure how he'd be with a dog that doesn't prefer play since he is so young.
Good with cats: Unknown, no exposure
House trained: Almost perfectly house trained - about 90% there
Crate trained: Enters crate willingly, settles quickly and quietly
Resource guarding: None seen
Walks on a leash: Walks well
Energy level: Medium-puppy

Benji is a beautiful black and white spotted mixed breed. He looks like he could be related to a Dalmatian. He is outgoing and has a magnetic personality! Benji likes to run and enjoys being outside. His foster mom jokes that he likes to dance, and knows a routine - he likes to shake right paw and left paw! Benji and another dog were abandoned and officers found them emaciated, dirty and living in trash. They were brought to the local shelter, where they ended up on the euthanasia list due to space. After being saved from euthanasia he has come up to an appropriate weight, is healthy, and loves living this life! All that is left for Benji is to find a forever home.

Ideal Home according to foster: The ideal home would be a home with a yard for Benji to play and an area he can be walked comfortably. He likes to stop and observe and sniff. He is active and enjoys lots of exercise. He would be perfect for someone or a family that enjoys family outings and adventure. His family must understand that Benji has some areas to work on, such as leash reactivity and basic manners. Also, a home with lots of affection as he is a snuggler!

Name: Benji
Breed: Mixed breed - dalmation? pointer? american bulldog?
Age: ~1.5-2 years
Weight: ~56lb
S*x: Male, neutered
Colour: Black and white
Medical: Emaiciated upon rescue (weighing about 28lb)

Good with men: Yes, but shy and warms up quickly
Good with women: Yes, but shy and warms up quickly
Good with kids 0-6: Unknown, no exposure
Good with kids 6+: Yes, 10+
Good with dogs: Yes, happy to co-exist with other dogs
Good with cats: Unknown, no exposure
House trained: Yes
Crate trained: Yes
Resource guarding: Food/high value treats - from dogs
Walks on a leash: Yes, but has displayed some leash reactivity to other dogs
Energy level: High
Requires detached/single home: Yes, this would be best for him; would be best outside of a city setting
Separation anxiety: None noted, but does enjoy being with another dog/person

This little guy is full of life and is a joy to be around! He was found as stray and is now looking for a forever family. He is friendly, affectionate and loves people. His scruffy hair stands on end making him even cuter! He gets vocal when his foster mama comes home or approaches his play pen when he is having some independent time, otherwise he has been quiet. He loves to give kisses and sit on his foster mom's lap until he gets bored and wants to jump down and play. He gets zoomies from time to time and will run back and forth from room to room, jumping up on the couch and back down, zipping through the house. He is a bit better with small dogs, opposed to the large dogs that he has met, as they frighten him a bit. However, he is confident and plays with them well after warming up.

Ideal Home: Family no small kids or older folks- older but active as he is still a young dog.

This little angel is as sweet as they come. Given the chance she will sit on her foster mom’s lap as she work for ages. She is fearful of strangers, but with a kind slow approach she warms up very quickly. She loves to play with her buddy Aries and makes herself “small” around the bigger dogs. She is best with medium energy dogs her size or a bit larger. Arielle is looking for a child-free home, as she is fearful of quick movements. Areas to work on include confidence building and learning to walk on a leash. This is a sweet little princess deserving of the very best home who will be patient with her and help her thrive!

Ideal home according to foster: A home where she will be the center of attention with plenty of lap time and treats!

If you're looking for a big ol' sweetheart from deep in the heart of Texas, Boots is your boy. House trained and always ready for loving. He loves to run outside and play and take nice long naps afterwards. He is loving towards children and is good with cats. He could be in a home with other dogs or by himself but would do great with another canine companion. He particularly enjoys dogs that can keep up with him as they play. He is a tank when they play but understands to be gentle with the smaller dogs. He is still learning to control his body and would be great with another dog who also likes to play and take nice long naps after. He has been good with submissive and dominant dogs from the foster's experience with him. Boots is a big goofball that loves to play and has been great with the foster's 9 year old daughter. He is not a guarder of any sort and just goes with the flow. Like most dogs he doesn't like loud noises but does not cower or hide and more goes to see what it could of been that startled him. He is a sweetheart.

Ideal home: A home with someone who will be able to give him the attention and exercise he needs. He is great with cats who don't mind a goofy dog getting in their face or laying on them as a pillow. He can keep to himself or be part of a pack of dogs.

Simone is little bit of sugar, spice and everything nice! She is calm and quiet when in the house, but when she goes for a walk she has energy and gets pumped. When she plays in the back yard she likes to sprint, play and lay. She is affectionate and likes to cuddle on the couch. She gets a long with everyone including the dogs big and small. It takes her a minute to warm up but once she does she melts in your arms, and she will flip on her back for belly rubs! Areas to work on include taking treats gently, as she is not gentle when fed a kibble or treat. Overall, Simone is a fun little dog who will make a great addition to almost any home!

Mochi is an active and playful girl who enjoys sniffing treats out from puzzles, playing with balls and squeaky toys, going for walks, romping in the backyard, and giving kisses. She is looking for a home where she receives plenty of pets, ear scratches, and can exercise her alert instincts. She gets along great with other dogs and would actually thrive with a companion. She’s smart, already knows how to sit, and is fully potty trained, kennel trained, and leash trained.

Ideal Home according to foster: The ideal home would be with someone who is retired or works from home—someone who has the time and energy to take her on walks, visit the park, and play fetch with her. I believe she would do well in a home with children and other pets, but she could also thrive as the only pet. Mochi is smart and highly food-motivated, making her a great fit for someone committed to continuing her training. I've already taught her to sit, stay, walk on a leash, and she's been kennel and house trained.

Separation anxiety: Possibly - she likes to be with her foster mom at all times

🆘 Palliative foster needed🆘

Otis came into the rescue in 2022 and was sadly diagnosed with cancer the same year. Since that time he has been in a palliative foster home, however due to unforeseen personal circumstances, Otis is in urgent need of a new palliative foster home effective immediately.

Our goal is to find a loving, quiet home to spend the rest of his days in comfort and peace.

Otis is 6 years and about 65lb.
He is house trained and requires minimal exercise (he is more couch potato than athlete).
Otis does unfortunately have "stranger danger" and is selective with other dogs. He has a bite history with other dogs and requires to be the only pet in the home.

Otis has completed a board and train program and is muzzle trained, to help manage his interactions. Otis is not an aggressive dog; he is nervous, sensitive and fearful.

🙏We desperately need to find a stable and loving environment where Otis can enjoy his remaining time with dignity and comfort.
If you or someone you know can offer Otis a peaceful and secure home, please reach out immediately.

Please contact us to discuss how you can help Otis. Your support can make all the difference in his final chapter.

Today it came to our attention that Kori had been an adoption coordinator, processing adoptions and finding forever families for 219 dogs. That’s over a quarter of all Rebel dogs! 🤯 What an accomplishment!

Kori has been with us from day 1. She is an awesome adoption coordinator, is the first to step up when we’re in a pinch, and cares deeply about every pup that Rebel intakes, managing our post-adoptions. From loading her car up with donations to travelling to Texas, her dedication to helping those in need is evident.

Thanks for all you do for us Kori! 🩵

Otis needs your help.

Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, Otis is in urgent need of a new palliative foster home effective immediately.

Otis has been in our care since Spring 2022, and was diagnosed with cancer that summer. Since then, he has been receiving palliative care in a foster home, but his current situation is no longer feasible. This brave boy has faced so much, and now he needs a loving, quiet home to spend the rest of his days in comfort and peace.

About Otis:

Age & Health: Otis is 6 years and about 65lb. He has been managing his condition with the support of his palliative foster care. He has also been treated for heartworms and received a dental.

Behaviour: Otis has some special needs behavioural needs. He has stranger danger and is selective with other dogs. He has a bite history with other dogs and requires to be the only pet in the home.

Training: Otis is muzzle trained, which helps manage his interactions. He has also completed a board & train. Otis is not an aggressive dog; he is nervous, sensitive and fearful.

Needs: Otis cannot continue to live out his days in a boarding facility. He requires a stable and loving environment where he can receive individualized care and enjoy his remaining time with dignity and comfort.

We are reaching out to the community to find a compassionate foster who can provide Otis with the quality of life he deserves. If you or someone you know can offer Otis a peaceful and secure home, please reach out immediately. Otis's time is limited, and every moment counts for this brave boy who has shown so much strength and resilience.

Please contact us to discuss how you can help Otis. Your support can make all the difference in his final chapter.

Hello friends! We are so thrilled that we have been able to collect bottle/can donations totalling $864.40 🙌

Let’s keep the momentum going! We will be collecting until July 31, and our goal is to hit $1,000.

Text Shelley at 289-339-7480 to arrange a pickup!

🍻🍾BOTTLES FOR BELLA🍾🍻

Summer is in full swing! That means bbqs and cottage weekends - and we also happen to know that a new season of the Bachelor just started, which means Wine Night Mondays. Don’t fret, we can make all your empties disappear! 💨

Rebel Dog Rescue is hosting a bottle drive to raise money for Bella. As many of you know, sweet Bella is presenting with a medical mystery. We have been doing everything we can to help her. Although she is making small improvements, we are far from full recovery. Our bill currently sits just under $8,000 and is climbing as we continue to treat Bella and try to figure out what is happening to her.

This fundraiser costs you nothing 🙅 Just shoot Shelley (one of our awesome volunteers) a text or give her a call at 289-339-7480 and we will make arrangements to pick-up your empties. We will also accept drop-offs!

So with that - we challenge you to show us your wine guzzling skills, or beer chugging talents in the form of empty bottles and cans! 🍾🍻
