With summer on its way, we have lots of milk too! All three of my girls have kidded and come into milk, giving 1/2 a gallon of milk a day each!
Along with all of the worlds craziness there is now formula shortages! So, have you considered goat milk? It has many benefits for you and your baby!
Goat milk is naturally homogenized meaning the milk and cream bond together in the udder rather then through a machine, so very little cream rises to the top with goats milk. This also means goat milk is less processed, cows milk has to have the cream added back into it so that it will emulsify. Goat milk rarely upsets stomachs because the fat molecules are smaller making it easier for your gut to process it, this is why it is considered the universal milk. This is also the reason they’re milk can be known to be sweeter, and creamier.
Goat milk is also in a sense hypoallergenic, cows milk has Alpha S1 casein in it, which is what most people are allergic to. However goat milk is very low in the Alpha S1 casein, and is higher in the Alpha S2 casein. A study showed that 40% of the people that were allergic to cows milk, could digest goat milk.
