Hedgehog Awareness - Please share

Well Bonfire Night is almost upon us :-(

This poster says it all really - but each year there are still far too many wildlife casualties where people have not checked their bonfires ... please help to reduce the number of casualties this year by sharing this poster and helping to spread the word.

If you should find a hedgehog fast asleep inside your bonfire stack then please pick it up, put it inside a box and place the box somewhere secure, shed etc. then contact your local Hedgehog Rescue for help and advice ... if it is hibernating then you SHOULD NOT try to warm it up and bring it out of hibernation.

If you don't already have details of your local Hedgehog Rescue/Carer then give the BHPS a call on 01584 890801 and they will be able to give you details.

As in previous years please also consider using this poster as your profile pic/avatar to help raise awareness.

Some of you will remember young Herbert, who arrived here just over 3 weeks ago after he had become trapped in a secure garden.

At that time he weighed just 253g and you might remember that I found that adult roundworm, full of eggs, in his sample, ewww 😱

Well this was Herbert earlier today. He is doing really well and has almost doubled in size …. He now weighs 480g 🦔💕😊

This is our Natalie, who is doing really well 😊

I took this photo of her yesterday, when she weighed in at 840g 🦔💕 She is still a little bit underweight/tapered around her bottom, as you can probably tell from pic., but hopefully by next weekend, she will be even more rounded 🤞

This gorgeous boy is Raul who came to join us a couple of weeks ago.

He is doing really well and is half way through his worming treatment.

I’m sure a lot of you will remember the photo of the adult roundworm, full of eggs, which I posted on the page last week ... well that came from Raul 😔

Everyone else is doing well and behaving themselves 🦔💕

Thanks to everyone who has bought from or donated to Bagworth Hedgehog Assist. We were able to send a payment of £130 to Spikey Critters Hedgehog rescue. See us again on the first Tuesday of December but in the meantime, if you need anything from the online catalogue, just message us.
