It's with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of GCHB Bulla’s The Mighty Quinn, CDX, RE, CGC aka “Poogie”
08.29.14 – 03.07.24
Poogie was the only fawn in a litter of 10 puppies sired by CH Banstock@Oakridge Rio Grande, CDX, RE (“Rio”) and out of GCH StoneBull’s Lucretia McNight, RN, OAP, NJP, NFP (“Lucy”). He reminded me so much of his Uncle, CH StoneBull’s Beacon In The Night, CD – “Pharos”, that I’d just lost 2 month prior, that I just had to keep him. He was pretty gangly looking growing up but had an aptitude for obedience competition and we were lucky enough to be mentored by a top obedience trainer, Esther Zimmerman. Esther not only saw the promise he had as an obedience dog, but as he matured, she encouraged me to put him in the show ring as she thought he would do really well. He did and finished 2020 as the #8 conformation Bullmastiff in the country. Unfortunately that was in the middle of Covid and he was already 6 years old, so basically by the time dog shows were getting back on track, Poogie was old for breed conformation. However, he wasn’t too old for Rally Obedience and quickly earned his Rally Excellent title and then went on to earn his CDX!
Poogie had the sweetest temperament. He was kind and gentle and if a disagreement broke out among the rest of the dogs, he made himself scarce. He was unbelievably tolerant of puppies, allowing them to climb all over him and wash his face. He loved to greet people with a stuffed toy in his mouth and if he liked you, which he usually did, he’d shoot between your legs and wait for you to scratch his butt. Poogie loved doing obedience and was so proud of himself when he mastered an exercise.
He was the best partner and friend anyone could have and I am so blessed to have had him share his life with me for 9 ½ years. Poogie was diagnosed with gastric carcinoma in December of 2023 and it was time for us to lay him to rest on March 7, 2024.
I love you Poogie….I miss you terribly and am so thankful to have had you. ❤️Jackie & Steve
