✨ Koda + Kai ✨

So proud of these two 🥹 Huge weekend for both, but especially Kai, he blew me away.

Our first challenge was crating both boys in the back of my ranger. Both can be reactive in enclosed spaces, so we did a quick prep session Friday, and they nailed it. No issues Saturday, and they relaxed comfortably next to each other. Sunday, picking up Kai, they even greeted each other with excited wiggles 🥹

They worked calmly around dogs playing and barking during breaks, stayed engaged with me, and happily greeted new people.

They even worked beautifully in front of a crowd, better than me 😝

So proud of these boys 🧡

Today brought a moment of reflection with Koda.

After working with 4 private clients, 3 of which Koda assisted with (despite having no formal training himself for over a week), I had a realisation…

✨ We’ve come so far ✨

I always tell clients:

“Give yourself and your dog some credit. You’ve both come a long way.”

And yet… I often forget to take that advice myself. 😅

But today, I saw and felt it.

I’m now confident in Koda’s ability to be my demo dog. He can now work just a few meters away from other dogs (even when they’re barking or lunging) and still stay focused and happy to train with me.

We’re having fun. I’m enjoying training him again.
It finally feels right. 🥹

Here’s to progress, even when it’s slow.

Another seminar in the books!

Day 1 was all about diving deep into e-collars, followed by two awesome days focused on group socialisation 👏

Always a pleasure meeting new faces, building connections, and having some fun along the way 🎉

Our first night weekly group class went off like a blast 🚀

Welcoming Bear the border collie to group classes 👋

The doggos handling everything I threw at them beautifully! It got dark relatively quickly and we were primarily working under spot light, which for some dogs was a first.

Our puppy kinder had a huge focus on genetically fufilling our pups through play! 💃 We introduced manual handling, vet examinations and chatted about how to problem solve behaviours 💪

Tell me why, out of all the gorgeous photos I got of the doggos today, Yindi’s spit bubble and Bailey’s stuck lip are my favourite 😍

Todays crew either dodging rain or getting a tad wet ☔️

We worked on…
➡️ Loose leash walking - Improving dogs positioning by changing where I reward (my left hip)
➡️ Play! We’ve all got to have some fun right 🎾
➡️ Recall 🏃‍♀️ enthusiasm was the focus for recall
➡️ Trick training 💃 keeping dogs interested and learning new things!

Digga + Koda had a check-in with Nicole recently!

Both boys did great during the sessions! Digga was stoked about all the food, and neither wanted to leave the van (can you blame them with all those treats? 🤣).

It was Digga’s first session in 4 years and he did awesome! We’ve got some rehab ahead for his tight Sacrum and Lumbar.

Koda has some instability in his right hind hock that we’ll be working to strengthen.

It’s so important to spot signs when something’s not quite right and get your dog checked!

Nicole plays a huge role in keeping my boys in top shape! I can’t recommend her highly enough 🙌

Todays crew loving when the sun came out to warm us up ☀️

Todays focus was 2 things:

1️⃣ Play! Giving dogs some fun throughout the session, adding more difficulty by asking them to perform obedience or tricks and teaching the rules of the game

2️⃣ Confidence building! Building dogs to think they can take on the world 💪

✨ Loose leash walking + engagement - paying more attention to his humans and stopping the brakes being put on

✨ Breed fulfilment - Major focus on breed fulfilment through appropriate structured play with tug 💪

✨ Working through some excitement around dogs - working around Murphy + Koda to help teach Frankie some neutrality

✨ Recall - Coming back to his people so he can enjoy that off leash life 💪
