Irusan had a true trial by fire today going to PetSmart. I didn’t realize it was a huge adoption event! The place was extremely busy with a tent erected next to the building with over a hundred dogs there for adoptions. He handled it like a champ and kept trying to follow people to get pets.

Each of our Voids knows their place and runs to their bowl station at meal times. A great way for each cat to be able to eat in peace, without another cat attempting to eat their food. It also takes advantage of vertical space which keeps less bowls close to the floor. Furthermore, due to how quickly our domestic cats are able to eat as opposed to their wild cousins, the elevated shelves help to aid in digestion.
The catio is officially closed! The Voids are not happy about the situation, however, the air quality was just upgraded from "Very Dangerous" to "Hazardous". Or would that be downgraded?
Black cats are two-thirds less likely to be adopted than any other colored cats. A good photo and description of a black kitty can make all the difference. Here is the photo of our little Minnow's adoption efforts. Her two sisters are the torties shown... and you wonder why little Minnow had to wait so long to get adopted?
Her giant personality and sweet disposition overshadowed any terrible adoption photo in a heartbeat. 🖤
Ender is our senior guy at 12-years-old, adopted with his bonded brother, Onyx, from a local shelter at the age of 8. When we adopted Ender (on left) and Onyx (on right); they were extremely emaciated. There wasn’t much information on them as to their previous lives, but their condition told a vivid story. After a thorough examination by our Veterinarian they were diagnosed as Stage II kidney cats, which didn’t account for their weight loss. In the following month, they both put on ~3 lbs a piece and blossomed into two beautiful 16+ lb cats! Sadly, we lost Onyx last year after a battle with Large Cell Lymphoma, however, we were able to give him a new lease on life after being abandoned in his first.
Ender is a gentle giant… extremely affectionate, emotionally intelligent cat. He is a true representation of what makes black cats truly special. He puts up with so much being the senior of a void clan of younger cats and does so as a patriarch, of sorts. The other cats clamor to be able to cuddle up with this extra special feline.
Ender’s favorite past times are eating, cuddling up with his people at night and spending long hours out on the catio in the hot sun!

Little Minnow was the "plain jane" of her litter. Her brothers and sisters were orange tabbys and torties, respectively. Minnow being the little black runt... was not highly adoptable. The agency attempted to have her adopted out with one of her brothers whom she was bonded to, but his owners didn't want another cat. Her brothers and sisters were all adopted out by 3 months of age. Minnow was initially left behind. Her adoption photo was blurry with a one liner stating "Minnow is a sweet cat". Her photo and description didn't do this little girl justice. She was adopted at 7 months old, although she was the size of a 3 month old kitten.
Minnow is the little mama of our band of Voids weighing in at all of 7 lbs.! She keeps them clean and warm when it's time to cuddle up and makes sure the litter box is always neat and tidy. She loves to run with the boys at times and loves to stalk and pounce on them, then run away! She is an extremely affection little girl and has the absolute softest fur.
Her favorite activities are looking for "caves" under the blanket at bed time and carefully walking her cat wheel with immense concentration.
