The rainbow bridge was crossed by four more beautiful paws the other day. Patrick was one of a kind. He was always so much fun to work with and was one of my kids favorites. Drake and Colton always ask if they could come wash him and his sister with me and boy, Patrick loved them. I've been grooming him since the beginning of Tangled Tails so it's hard to believe he's gone. He was loved on and snuggled by his family in his last moments and peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge. Now he's running and playing in endless pastures, pain free, just like he did in his younger days. Until we meet again sir, we love you and miss you Patrick. You will always be in our thoughts...

Its been a great 4 years, filled with lots of great dogs, lots of great customers, and lots of great memories. With the recent shutdown, I have been forced to make a very difficult decision to ensure my financial stability to support my family. Since grooming is non-essential, and may very well be extended more than just a couple weeks, I have had to accept a new position. While I am excited for this new adventure, I am also sad because it means that I will be forced to drastically scale back the amount of customers I can take on. I want everyone to know how much I have loved their pets and appreciate their support throughout the years.

I will still be posting tutorial videos so please keep an eye out for those. Once grooming opens back up, I will only be able to take on new customers on a case by case basis as time allows so please feel free to send me a message.

Again, thank you for the wonderful 4 years and your support! I am not closing my business, just scaling it down when grooming opens back up. As always, I will always do my best and thank you! We love you all!

Please support your community and shop your local small business, like and share their posts, and support them where you can!

Here is a brief tutorial on feet. Their paws grow hair and it needs to be maintained as well. I use a pair of straight shears and a slicker brush but any small brush will do as long as its not a bristle type hair brush. It's hard to see in the video because of the nature of the angle but use your brush gently and if you run into a mat or a tangle that wont brush out, just cut it away.

Thing to remember is dogs have webbing between their toes like we do between our fingers, some more than others, so you want to be sure not to dig into the pads and cut too far. DO NOT cut what you can't see.

As always, please keep your distance, stay at home when at all possible, and wash your hands so we can get back to work. 😁

I felt like I wanted to provide another tutorial on faces. There are so many different faces and they are all going to need work by the time this is over. Again, I am not working, not accepting new customers, or any payment...I am abiding by the stay at home order.

I cannot stress enough, if you dont feel comfortable or your dog is too squirmy, DO NOT do it.

I am extremely limited on the dogs I have access to so my videos are limited. I am providing these for informational purposes only and take no responsibility if things go awry at home. Please be careful with your pet and dont force it.

As always, please keep your distance, stay at home when at all possible, and wash your hands so we can get back to work. 😁

It's me, your friendly neighborhood mobile groomer again here with a tutorial on tails!

Note: there are lots of different tails out there, from poofy tails, curly tails, poodle tails, to tangled tails!!! Yeti had a fairly straight tail, simple to comb but the same "rolling" motion I show will work on most tails except for the double coated ones (really thick fur like huskies) and really matted ones. DO NOT PULL! If you catch a mat, just cut it off. It is hair and it will grow back. Follow your dogs lead, as long as they are comfortable, then just keep working in small bunches and hold the hair to prevent pulling it and making it painful.

If the tail is matted, proceed with extreme caution and if you don't feel comfortable, then dont do it and try to get a hold of a groomer that is still working. These are informational videos only and I do not accept any responsibility if things go wrong at home. Always remember to be positive with your pet.

As always, please keep your distance, stay at home when at all possible, and wash your hands so we can get back to work. 😁

Many of you have asked for a tutorial on faces. There are a few points here to make.
1. This is real life. Not all dogs like their faces messed with. Your groomer has developed a relationship with your pet and it gets easier over time, most of the time.
2. A lot of pets are very wiggly, if at any time you don't feel comfortable doing this DON'T. Please do not hurt your pet and do not force it. Your groomers are experienced in how to handle some of the more difficult pets.
3. LOVE, make sure you talk nicely to your pet, love on them and reassure them.
4. Pets are like kids and almost always more difficult for their human parents. Do not be discouraged.
5. Try to have another person in your home available to help if possible but please abide by our shelter in place.
6. If your pet gets agitated or bites, dont force it. Dont make grooming a negative experience for you or your pet.

I am posting these videos as I can to help you. I assume no liability if something goes wrong at home, these are informational videos only. I am not working, in service, or accepting payments. I am abiding by shelter in place so the doggos I have access to are very limited. I am pro shutdown even if it means that some of the services and businesses we consider essential, are not deemed essential. We need to slow the spread of COVID-19 and if this is how we do it then this is what we will do.

Feel free to message me with questions if you have them.

Always wash your hands, keep your distance when you are out in public, and if you can, stay home. We want to get back to work and cant if this virus continues to spread!

It's me, your friendly neighborhood mobile groomer!!!
Due to the shutdown, most of your groomers are out of commission as it's not considered an essential service so Im racking my brain trying to figure out how I can help you guys maintain your pets during this time till we can all get back to work. Im limited on the dogs I have access to so I will do the best I can to provide tips and tricks to get you through till we can get back to it. If you do not feel comfortable, feel free to reach out and ask questions...I will answer them as best as I can. Pardon the video skills, my oldest, Drake, is my handsome videographer and is helping me out.
Keep your eye out for more over the next 30 days.

I sincerely apologize that I cannot continue to operate during the shutdown. I will continue to beg and plead to the powers that be since I do not require ANY human contact to keep your pups coats healthy, but at this time, we are not considered an essential business so we will remain parked until the order is lifted. I am saddened by this but more saddened because I know how important it is to keep your pups groomed and cleaned for their health and comfort. Rest assured, once the order is lifted, we will be ready to get back to our regular schedule and I will do the best I can to work everyone in that will have missed their scheduled time with me.
In the mean time, please stay safe, stay at home if you are not essential, and wash your hands often. I look forward to seeing all my furry customers again soon, I will be missing them 100%.

16/03/2020

By now, I'm sure most of you are aware of the very fluid issues we are experiencing as a society that is COVID-19. I want you to all be aware that I am going to continue business operations as scheduled for the time being. Springfield Public Schools has cancelled classes as a preventive measure to aid in hindering the spread of this virus, which means I may have helpers from time to time. I want to ensure you all that I and my family have been taking extra measures to avoid infection and spreading this illness, however, should it arise that any of us should develop symptoms, we will immediately self quarantine and I will call any scheduled customers to reschedule.

I please ask that you let me know if you are experiencing any symptoms of this illness so we can reschedule. Going forward, we will be practicing social distancing as best we can without disrupting your pets grooming schedule.

Thank you all so much for your understanding and cooperation while we work through this very uncertain path.

The rainbow bridge led another four legged soul to eternal happiness. This is Buddy, a loving, loyal, and beautiful boy. He was a little brother to Raisin, big brother to Asher, and forever friend and loyal companion to his human momma. He was so kind hearted, gentle, and I loved him. He was sent on his way peacefully in the arms of his momma knowing he was fiercely loved and unafraid. He joined his big sister on the otherside and they can now romp and play through endless fields and be inseparable partners once again. Enjoy Buddy and say hi to Raisin for us, let her know we miss her and we will miss you. Love you sweet boy.

When you love your customers so much you just gotta take Valentine's selfies with them!

Fleas are a thing, even in the middle of winter. Please 👏 please👏 please 👏use your flea and tick prevention even through the cold months. Sometimes, as in this case, it doesnt work so keep an eye out for signs of fleas. This baby was such a sweetheart and I look forward to a regular schedule with him. 😍

A bernedoodle? Zoey is the cutest and wiggliest little bernedoodle I've ever had the pleasure of meeting! Her big bro seems to be fitting into his new role nicely and they are just the sweetest!!! Can't wait for this dynamic duo again in a few weeks!

When a day gets cancelled because of ice and the only other day available is a hockey day...spa day happens before sunrise. Thank you to all for being flexible during winter weather/hockey season. Phoebe was my trooper this morning and started at 6 with me today so I could pretty up all my furry customers by noon to get to hockey!

When you try to take a selfie with your buddy and they decide to kiss your face!!! 🤣🤣 I love you too Millie!

Happy veterans day. Thank you to all who have served our great nation and fought for our freedoms both here and abroad. Thank you to all the men, women, K9s, and their families who have sacrificed so much so we can sleep at night. Thank you especially to my dad, who retired after giving 22 years to the USMC, and also, happy belated birthday Marines. Oooh rah.

I will always do my best to let you know what to expect before I do any work. Sometimes it is necessary to get a do-over cut and set an on-going schedule to allow your baby's fur to grow out to the length you like. I got to transform this sweet baby and I just can't wait to see her soft, silky fur when it starts growing back in!! You have no clue how much of a DOLL she is! 🤗

21/09/2019

Its dogfest time!!!!!!!

ABC 13 - WSET

I will never forget this day. I woke up and began getting ready for a job interview when I was halted in my tracks by sobbing. I went downstairs and I was paralyzed by what I saw on tv, I sat on the couch at my best friends house and watched in horror as the first tower burned and the second plane struck the second tower. It was all a haze as I had just got off working a graveyard shift but I was horrified for all the people trapped, every soul that was murdered that day. My best friend, her mom, and I all cried, we cried heavy tears for the attack on our country and her people.

I. Will. Never. Forget. The lives lost that day, the men, women, and children that wouldn't get to tell someone "I love you" for the last time, lives cut short by those who sought our demise. The terror and the pain they felt is unimaginable, unfathomable, and its been so long but I remember. While life moves on, we honor the lives lost, the lives of first responders, the lives of the search k9s, the grieving families and friends, and for as long as I live, I won't hesitate to remind everyone I see of the day we were sucker punched and how we banded together as a country and exclaimed Never Again!

NEVER FORGET: This emotional video of the September 11th attacks including actual audio/video recordings reminds us of what we all experienced as a country.

Today, I learn of the passing of another beloved furry friend of mine. Sweetie needed a lot of patience and love, of which I was happy to give. It was a joy to watch her progressively learn to accept grooming and I enjoyed building a relationship with her. Dear Sweetie, whatever overcame you was quick and didn't leave me time to say goodbye. I hope you are living your best life romping through the hills over the rainbow bridge. Don't worry, I will take good care of Chewy. /hugs

27/08/2019

Don't forget about Dogfest at Chesterfield park from 10 am to 2:30 pm on Saturday September 21st!!! I will be there, as always, doing nail trims for your fur babies!!!!

Another rough day to learn of Coopers passage over the rainbow bridge. He lived a good long life but you wouldnt know it, he was eternally a puppy at heart. Always spry and full of energy, this boy was great and will truly be missed. We love you Coops. /hugs

I need your help!!! I want to do the hay maze this year but our usual hay guy is out of the business....does anyone know where I can get a whole lot of square hay bales for Pets n Pumpkins this year??

18/07/2019

Folks....this is it. Summer is here! Do. Not. Leave. Your. Pets. Or. Babies. In. The. Car.

I run the air conditioning in my trailer to keep your pet cool and have bowls of fresh water available during their visit with me. Most often, when you remove your key from the ignition, your air conditioning is not running and your best friend is covered in thick fur! It will get hot within moments! Just don't do it, not even for a minute.

There is an excessive heat warning in effect. Please do not leave your pets in the vehicle, even if the air condition is running. Dogs can die of heat stroke within 15 minutes.

13/07/2019

I have to post another of Foxy because I am literally amazed at how much hair she blew in just one month! Might I also add that I looooooove her!!!!!

04/07/2019

The tents are up, lots of people are excited for a day off, planning bbqs, time in the pool, and time with friends and family. Before you get underway with the festivities, take a moment to situate your pets and make sure they are safe. It will be loud all night so be ready with contingency plans or take them out on a leash.

From Tangled Tails and my family, have a happy and safe Independence Day!

Heaven has gained another beautiful, precious soul. One that loved unconditionally, never fussed, and was always the sweetest. Frannie mae has been seeing me since the beginning of Tangled Tails and I will greatly miss her. Please keep her family in your thoughts during this sad time. Safe travels Frannie and enjoy the endless hills to roam and play.
