18 years dog training and counting.

10 years dog grooming and I’m done.

I take my hats off to all you it’s a job role that doesn’t get enough credit.

It’s intensely physical, dirty, emotionally demanding and owners often have unrealistic wishes for their dog’s groom, with very little understanding of how their dog’s behaviour makes things almost impossible.

I’ve been in my own salon, in a van (which was hell) and in a commercial salon managing a team (also hellish at times).

I’ve been w**d on, pooped on and sicked on. I’ve had dogs try to bite me. I’ve had male dogs do other filthy things on my table 🍆 💦

I’ve had fights happen outside my van whilst I locked myself inside. I’ve had a dog have a seizure on the table. I’ve had owners complain to my manager about their dog’s shave due to matting, even though they were shown what to expect. I’ve been threatened by a colleague who said she had thoughts of stabbing me with her scissors!

I’ve cried over dogs that have passed.
I’ve cried over dogs that have been so matted their skin has bled once the fur was removed.
I’ve cried from the back pain.

DOG GROOMING IS HARD.

I’ve always enjoyed grooming my regulars, and a couple will be continued, but I’ve never really got the passion for dog grooming.

Dog training is my passion. Always.

Hello all my friends and fur-babies! I hope everyone is healthy, happy and staying brushed 😆💕

Baby Bruce and I are doing well! Thanks again for all the love from so many of you! We are sometimes sleeping up to three hours at a time and Bruce is growing almost by the hour! Big brother James adores Bruce and loves the snuggles.

My healthy-mom checkup is coming up soon and I expect it to totally clear me for work, but I won’t know until I know. My plan is to get back into the groove of grooming by having “Nail Trim Mondays” and taking a small amount of appointments until I get my strength and speed back.

Again, thank you ALL so much for your love and kindness. I miss all your fur-babies!

We have a big and healthy baby boy! Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes! I am recovering and will SLOWLY be returning to grooming as I am physically able. Your kind understanding is so very appreciated 💕

Hello, friends and fur-babies! I am at the salon today until noon, doing nail trims 😁

This is something I will be providing on Mondays for a while, since I’m too pregnant to perform full grooms anymore.

Of course, once Baby arrives I will be out of pocket for at least two months, maybe three.

I am extremely thankful to you all who allowed me to care for your pets!

Just wanted to say we are sorry to all the people we haven’t gotten back to about grooming your babies. We prefer not to answer calls or texts while we are working so we can pay more attention to the beautiful pups. Sadly but thankfully we are booked up until the beginning of September. The best thing we can recommend is going to your normal groomer then calling us to keep your babies on their normal grooming schedule. Thank you all for understanding we are very grateful for all of you!😊
