To all of my lovely clients,
Unfortunately due to things not working out as well at our new place I have made the tough decision to close my doors. I have had an amazing few years meeting so many great people and their fur babies. I wish you all the very best and feel free to message me if you need any recommendations of amazing groomers in the area. All appointments that have already been booked until the end of the month remain and I will see some of you then 😊 Thanks so much for all of the support.

Thought I would make another post for all of my new clients to let you know that I stock the beautiful Smith&Burton range, and have just received another order in.
Smith&Burton are a New Zealand company, that have a range that I swear by. They create clean and gentle products that are naturally effective.

- I always keep the 250ml shampoo and conditioner bottles in stock but can get in 500ml shampoo and conditioner bottles too on request.

Such a cute little man! At only 16 weeks, Blue handled his first puppy groom like a champ 🥇 I always say the earlier the better when it comes to puppies having their first groom. I recommend making a booking for their first puppy groom after their final vaccination 🤍🤍
I offer puppy grooms for $45, which includes -
- Bath - shampoo and conditioner
- Blow dry.
- Full body brush out
- Trim - around eyes and chin, paws, bum and tum.
- Nail clip
During a “puppy groom”, I spend lots of time with the puppies, getting them used to each of the bits of equipment and it’s the perfect time for owners to ask any questions or for any advice on how to get their puppies used to the upkeep at home 🤍

UPDATED HOURS - IMPORTANT * please read *
Hey everyone!
Due to starting a new part time job my grooming hours will be changing. The new hours will be Monday - Friday 2.00 - 5.30. This will open 2 spaces every afternoon of the week. While this will open more options for days to come out, unfortunately it means my day stay service with the groom will no longer be available - since I will already be in napier I am able to pick up after work at 1.30 and bring them out with me on a Tuesday and Thursday, however I won’t be able to bring them home again after. I hope this isn’t too much of an inconvenience to anyone! Flick me a message if you have any questions. The new hours will commence on 8th of June - all appointments until then will remain the same, and I will message everyone who has pre booked appointments after then to change the times. Tips for grooming and maintaining a curly coat! 🐶
I often get asked how to brush through a curly coat like Lily’s ⬇️.
The best way to care for a coat like this is to start off by ensuring you book in for 6-8 weekly visits to the groomer. It is important to keep to this schedule as it only takes the space of a week for a curly coat to turn into a matted mess - which only leaves to options - to either try to remove the matting which pulls and tugs at the dogs skin and causes irritation and can be very painful for your dog - or to shave underneath the matting which results in having a nudey pup for a few weeks (which isn’t the end of the world but there is definitely better options).
My next bit of advice is every 3rd week or so, to give a bath with a doggy shampoo and conditioner and BLOWDRY the coat! Emphasis on blowdry because it’s the most important part. You will most likely need to put your dog on a lead as most tend to get a big wriggly during this time. The reason blowdrying is so important with these coat types is because the air straightens out the hair, and removes a lot of the tangles caused by the curls wrapping around each other. This will make it a million times easier when it comes to brushing.
When it comes time to brush I recommend using a slicker brush (using only very gentle pressure so you aren’t being to harsh on their skin) to brush over the whole coat, focusing especially on the legs, face and neck (where collar goes). These can be purchased at any pet store.
If they have started to develop any minor matting it is best to get them booked in right away to see the groomer, before it gets too out of control. 😊
I hope this helps any of my curly coated fur-parents and I have been able to teach you some new techniques!

The new salon is ready for business next week!! 💙 Everything is functioning and we have our play space set up too! We have a few extra cosmetic things to finish up over the next few weeks but nothing that will stop our furry friends from visiting!
I want to say the biggest thank you to my incredibly supportive other half who has worked tirelessly over his summer break to get this converted from an old crusty shed, to a cozy salon for me! I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without him! Can’t wait to see you all soon! 🤍

🚛 🏡 PAMPERED PUPZ IS ON THE MOVE!!! 🏡 🚛
It’s a long post, but it’s super important to have a read through 🤍
As some of you may have already seen, we are selling our home and moving out to a new house in Eskdale in the new year. This means big changes to pampered Pupz and the way things operate.
Below, I have all information for the way things will be changing moving forward.
IF YOU LIVE IN WESTSHORE/BAYVIEW AREA, OR ARE HAPPY TO MAKE THE DRIVE (10 minutes out of Bayview on SH5) - Things will be mostly the same for you, except of course a change of location. I will send information to you (where to go, where the salon is etc) before your appointment. But other than that, it will just be drop off before appointment and pick up after, as per usual.
IF YOU LIVE IN NAPIER/TARADALE AND/OR YOU ARE UNABLE TO MAKE THE DRIVE-
I will be bringing in a new pick up and drop off service for those who cannot make it out there. This will mean I will be coming into town between 7.30-8am to pick up my fur friends for the day, they will come out for their grooms (when they aren’t being groomed they will be in a daycare set up in the salon with me), and then I will bring them home either between 1-1.30pm before I start my other job, or 4.30-5pm depending on what day you have booked (I will confirm this with you when we make the appointment). However to keep up with costs of driving in for pick up and drop off, and care throughout the day, this will be for an additional $15 on top of your groom. Please note I can only offer this service to dogs that are okay with other dogs as they will be in a daycare set up with a maximum of 3 other dogs. So to keep everyone safe, I ask that you don’t book this service if you know your dog can be aggressive with other dogs.

Good morning everyone! 🤍

It certainly seems too early for Christmas themed posts but just letting everyone know I am now fully booked until Christmas. I think I will be seeing most of you between now and then but just wanted to let you know that unfortunately if you don’t have a booking between now and then, I no-longer have any more room to squeeze any more of my fur friends in. And due to having a second job I am unable to open up extra hours outside of my usual ones. My deepest apologies to those that have missed out on a pre Christmas spot.

For those who are having to wait a little longer than their 6 weekly cycle for a grooms over the next month or 2, if you have any questions about brushing and keeping those mats away, flick me a message and I can give you some advice.

Thanks for your understanding, and for those who I won’t be seeing for the rest of this year, Thank you all so much for your support over 2021, keep safe, and hopefully I can see you all again in 2022 🤍

Good morning everyone!
I have been a busy 🐝 this morning setting up the salon so I can operate contactless at level 3. Fingers crossed things will be back to normal before we know it! But for now I have a few changes to drop off and pick up procedure to keep everyone’s bubbles safe!

When you drop your dogs off I have set up a sign in and sanitation station for you to scan the QR code and sanitise before and after touching the crate handles (these will be cleaned before and after each dog arrives anyway but just for extra precaution). Then if you could just either put your dogs over the fence (if they aren’t going to try and jump out) or in the crate (whichever you prefer) I will come out when we are able to be at 2m distancing and bring them inside. Please message me before hand with your requirements for their grooms and I will do my best to match that depending on coat condition and matting etc. The least contact the better for everyone’s safety with this new strain.

I will message you once I have looked over the dogs coat with a pick up time and it is EXTREMELY important to come to pick them up on time as I can only have one dog here at a time during level 3, and so that I can ensure everything is clean and santised between clients and follow government quidelines. If you don’t think you will get here on time for pick up message me right away so we can change your appointment.
