Marley is a very smart girl and she is a quick learner. Here she is learning how to “go to bed”, because who wants to have their dogs in the face when trying to have a dinner, right? 🤪😁
Shaping: How to put a dog in a box, DAY 1
It took her 7 min, not bad 😁 Shaping is a great mental exercise for a dog. The point is to let them figure out everything themselves, not giving them any hints. I only praise a behavior that leads to what I want from them. You can see at some point that she started scratching the box which was my fault because I clicked at the wrong moment, telling her the scratching was good 😌 It took her a little bit to realize that it wasn’t what I actually wanted from her.
My dad’s “PITA dog” 😀 He is hyperactive, reactive, not trained at all. This is a first thing he has ever learned and it took him only two minutes to understand what I wanted from him.
Remember, usually it’s not the dog’s fault that he doesn’t listen and behave, sometimes they just need a different approach, people need to understand the way that dog thinks and figure out how to work with it. Here is an example of how a positive reinforcement can change the game. He is responding great to a clicker training. 🥰
Raksha is having a little bit of leash reactivity issues, she has been afraid of other dogs since she was a puppy. Giving her a job to do around dogs is getting her distracted and it’s giving her confidence. Laying when other dogs are passing by works just great for her 👍🏼😊
Always learning something new! 😊
„She is pulling on the leash!” they said! 😄 What a well behaved dog 😁💖
