Jax and apple swapping handlers and getting over their insecurities!! Always a great feeling when dogs and handlers and making progress and today was a huge step forward for both dogs.

How much is your dogs safety worth? I hear to often from people that they can’t afford this or that to fix their dogs behavior issues or keep them safe. Well the truth is you shouldn’t have a dog then and that might hurt but it is true. Albeit most of the time people are wasting my money on eating out!!!
I’ll ask again, what is the price you are willing to pay to keep your loved ones safe?

Shadow has passed away. He has succumbed to his horrific injuries from intentional prolonged starvation and abse by his owner, Kadesha Wilson, 29 who was renting a room from Helena Bell on the first floor of 10 Marley Place, Waterbury. There were a number of other degenerates who witnessed the starvation and abse and did nothing!!! But let’s be clear, those subhumans don’t care about life or animals or morality so normal society must rely on police and authorities for intervention and protection. But no one came for little Shadow. He was failed by all in every possible way.
We are devastated. We are choosing to announce this awful news with the photo of Shadow with Lynnann C.
Shadow LOVED his momma Lynnann and the feeling was more than mutual. Shadow got to live the best week with the most kindness he’d ever known.🥹
He slept by her side.
He went to a baseball game and experienced grass under his little body.
She was his favorite lap to curl up in with a nice summer evening breeze.
He got to feel the sunshine on his little face.
Shadow felt love.
We know it.
His momma has been with him every day since his rescue last Friday—eight days ago.
We believed his recovery was just off to a slow start. We hoped. We prayed.
Last evening Lynnann rushed him to the VCA when she had a feeling something was “off” after vomiting.
Kaileigh R., another selfless soul from our team was able to sit and hold him during his final moments today while our dear Tracy G. dropped everything immediately and ran to the VCA this morning to be sure Shadow had family and support.
Diana U. fought so hard for your abser Kadesha to be arrested.
The VCA vets and staff believed in your recovery anf went above and beyond to give you the best chance at a brand new life.
Everyone from the BARC CT community followed your story, donated, and became your biggest advocate.
You were so loved.
No more sadness, sweet boy. You are at peace where no one can ever hurt you again. You were SO brave for SO long, now it time to rest. Something will come from your suffering and death. We promise.
Please 🙏🏼 MARK YOUR CALENDAR for July 12 for Kadesha Wilson’s next court hearing so we can PACK THE HOUSE in solidarity for Shadow and show the judge we aren’t going away. We’re just getting started! They will probably change the date now that we’re drawing attention to it publicly so we will monitor and continue to update about that. WE ARE NOT GOING AWAY.
We are STILL searching for the third dog, a tan female pitbull. Reward if found or for information leading us to her find her. Thank you.

Handsome practicing his heel command. I use a traditional heel for pet dogs where the dog is behind leg rather than having their shoulders next to the left leg. Creates a much more relaxed mindset.

When a dog trust and loves you they will follow. I use food to teach somethings, how ever I rarely use it with teaching a dog to walk with me. When a dog seeks affection I always use that first. I am not saying using food is bad, it is just that most of the time the way food is used you are teaching a dog a trick rather than building a bond.

Adopt cheddar!!
Cheddar comes trained and with training for life! Young energetic dog who needs physical and mental stimulation. Someone who will be firm and fair and loving. He is a big mush but needs to have boundaries. Breed experience is a must.
