Just a little update on precious Albany, now Albie 🐾🥰 the Stray in Stoke Albany, LE16

He’s been in a foster home for a couple of weeks now and is doing amazing. He’s happy and eating well and is slowly gaining weight. The poor boy will take a while to recover from his ordeal but he’s in great hands and is officially under the care of Lainy's Rescue which is a wonderful local rescue who help so many strays/pound pulls/welfare cases etc to name a few.
They rely solely on donations and fundraising to cover their never ending vet bills and the general upkeep of all the animals they have in their care. Albie will need to be neutered/chipped/vaccinated, and be fed good quality food 3 times a day to get him up to an ideal weight before he’s even considered to be put up for adoption.

🐾If anyone would like to donate towards his vet care/food here are the details :

Bank Transfer - Lainy Gordon Meechan Rescue
Account : 65873726
Sort Code : 53-61-33

PayPal : [email protected]

Any amount is gratefully received 🙏🏻
Thank you ☺️

For those of you have been asking how if all happened

The Harveys Army/Doglost team became aware of a lurcher type dog that had been straying around the Desborough area for a while around Teusday14 March due to a post by a lovely lady called Tracey McGee. A page was quickly set up to help channel sightings and the communities of Stoke Albany, Desborough and Wilbartson swung into action logging sightings and carefully seeing where he was going without chasing or trying to catch him. He was covering around 15 miles a day between the villages and was seen as far out as Brampton Ashe and Dingley as well as "bin diving" in Sainsburys at Desborough. More and more sightings came in and we began to build a plan. With the help of a number of locals food stations were set up and monitored but "Albany" as we had named him by then was still covering a lot of distance a day and looking more and more skinny.

By Sunday 19 March we were confident enough of his pattern to put a trap and a food trail into one of the areas we where he was being regularly sighted with the help of the amazing Marshall sismy jack gray and sparkes

Trap was set and cameras were monitoring 24/7... everyone had a sleepless night hoping he would visit but sadly no sign… but while we were wondering if he was ok we got news of sightings at a new location from the most lovely couple who had seen him in the village on their drive... kelly and natalie immediately scambled into action moving the trap to the new location and sprinkling the nicest hotdog sausages up the lane to the drive. Trap was set, cameras were on... and everyone held their breathe...

And bless "albany" he had clearly had enough and followed the trail up the lane and across the drive and then into the trap.. a few heart stopping moments about whether he would go all the way in but then he was safely caught.

"albany" tucked into the rest of the trap food while we all cried with relief ... well done all another lost and desperate lad safe!
