After some lengthy interviews, I'd like you all to meet my new assistant, Smarty. He's a bit of a newbie when it comes to riding, but he's got guts! He took Dude, my horse for the M.H.E.R Equine Elevation Challenge , out on his first trail ride. I can't wait to see what adventures they get up to! Both Dude and Smarty had a great first "ride". 😊😅

Hey Tessa thanks for lending us a saddle! Allyna could practice trotting and learned to saddle her horse with a saddle she can actually lift.
Tahoe has taught so many people how to ride. He’s the horse I got for free in 2010 who was deemed “crazy.” But he’s the best crazy horse you will ever come acrossed.
****Side note: I’m casually looking to purchase a decent children’s saddle****

Dude is looking for his forever person after competing in the M.H.E.R Equine Elevation Challenge at the Jefferson County fairgrounds event. Follow for updates!

Teenaged paintaloosa gelding. Has had consistent and extensive groundwork done all summer after spending most (if not all) of his life being unhandled/untouched. Not broke to ride yet. He would make a great project to finish for someone who may want to do some trail riding or a great companion for someone who wants a horse to love and brush.
Easy to catch, food motivated, ties, leads, loads, low in the pecking order, easy keeper. Desensitized with noodles, bags, tarps etc.

Say hello to Snickers! The longest resident here at the farm. 🐴
He was my main mount who carried me through all my teenage years of learning and "let's try this". He has taught me many, many things. 📚

This year he is 17 and still rides like the crazy boy I unintentionally trained him to be. (You know, crazy horse girl teenagers learning the hard way, right? 😅) I'm okay with that; it still reminds me where my riding and skill need improvement after all these years. 🐎

He holds the title of a main character in many memories and stories since day one from riding and training, my first show, taking my friends on their first rides, scars, the "if you can ride Snickers then we know you can ride" challenge. 🏆

Everyone deserves a horse like Snickers, who may not be the prettiest pony, but one who can hold the place of so many good memories among all the things life throws at us. Especially for our teen years. 🦄

Care to share any of your horses who hold a special place in such an unusual world? 🐴

16-year-old, grade, 12.3hh pony mare.
Broken to ride, great ground manners, good for the farrier, UTD on shots, feet, and teeth. She has good, hard feet and doesn't require shoes. Easy to handle on the ground, rides English and Western. She would be a great step-up pony or a good addition to a lesson program. She has had foals before and was a great mom aswell. Her only downfall is that she doesn't like to ride alone, shes fairly lazy and doesnt want to canter without being sassy, and she hasn't had real work for about a year. She could use a refresher from an experienced rider. Shes stout enough for an adult rider to give her a quick restart. Located near Latrobe, PA. TwoFiveOO FIRM PM for details

Coming in hot for some dinner! Dude, my M.H.E.R Equine Elevation Challenge draw, has finally realized who brings the goods and is approching and allowing me to halter him ina large pasture. 😍 We still have a lot of work to do, but this was a huge milestone in the process. **he will be available for adoption at the end of summer Mending Hope Equine Rescue

Id say shes at the point of boredum with my flappy garbage bag, just what we look for 😉
