Rest easy sweet Elvis.

Elvis came to us from Kaufman Kill Pen. He was said to be a 4 year old ready to be halter broke Appaloosa. The videos showed a thin horse that needed some groceries, nothing that some good TLC and training wouldn’t help. A young horse that would live a wonderful and happy healthy life if given the chance.

Elvis arrived super skinny, super sick, one eye severely compromised, feral and we believe him to have been 2 to 3 years old. He had the nastiest cough, and was lethargic. We nearly lost him on the first day.

From the beginning he was such a gentle soul. I don’t know many feral 2 year olds that would let me put neomycin in their eye 3 times a day or scrub the rotten, p***y flesh from their face. He understood I was trying to help him.

He started to gain weight, he became lighter and brighter and this sweet and curious personality came out. Elvis was always so interested in what everyone else and everything was doing around the farm. And almost every time you’d come into his line of sight he would whinny at you. He would whinny and greet everyone that came to the farm. I will really miss him greeting me in the morning.

Even though Elvis had improved considerably since being here, unfortunately his condition was too poor and we could not save sweet Elvis.

At least during his time here he got a name, food, tlc and got to know he was loved.

God Bless and run free on green pastures, you will be missed sweet boy.

Quick update on Ruby.

Thank you Kelly Johnson for entrusting me with your sweet girl through her quarantine and letting me be part of her journey to recovery and a good life ❤️.

Excited for Faith Deaton Earp and her adopting Ruby. She is going to have such a wonderful life and I’m so excited to see how she “glows up”.

Thank you for checking out our page!

We are a small and humble rescue located in Monroe NC.

Dayspring suggests the notions of illumination and hope, the beginning of a new day and thus a chance for happiness and improvement.

Every new day is a new promise and a blessing and that’s that I hope to provide to the animals that come into our care; a new promise at a new life and a chance at happiness and hope.

Thank you again for your support and please follow to keep updated with the animals we help and the work we do.

God Bless.
