Paisley's Help Page Our little female Chihuahua Paisley was the reason this page was created. She was so sick and we had no money so no one would help.

Finally we found a Veterinarian who worked with us. She years later is still happy and healthy!

Just an FYI about me. I used to be an Animal Control officer in my younger years. I have seen some very sad situations. There are 3 situations that stick close in my mind. The first one was a hunting dog that had been beaten because she wouldn't hunt... her fear of people was so deep she had to be put down. She was beautiful and it was a travesty to have this happen. The second was a small Pit Bull that had been beaten and starved. We took him from the abusive owners. He could barely walk. Every joint on his legs had open sores. He was definitely abused. We padded his kennel and hand fed him until he was strong enough to eat on his own and got him to a veterinarian. We called him Peanut because he was just a shell of a dog (He had never been called anything but dog). I went into his kennel every day and sat and loved on him. As we waited for the court hearing against the owner which was months later. He became a different dog. He was perky and happy. He was no longer the pitiful shell of a dog. Aside from the scars on the joints of his legs his heavier body mass and treatment gave his red coat a shine. He had a sparkle in his eyes. His previous owners were charged with animal abuse and fined. The courts kept us from returning the dog to them and he was adopted by a family that came in everyday for a month to acclimate him. Success! The 3rd incident was a little beagle who was being kept in a rabbit hutch above ground and had a chicken wire floor except for the little hut. It was cold when I went out to check on the dog. He had no water, no straw or bedding and his food had fallen through the chicken wire and was on the ground in a big pile. He was nothing but bones and listless. I took the dog from the hut and placed him in my van with blankets all around him. I notified the owners at the front door and ticketed them for abuse and a court hearing. Once again we followed procedure and he turned into a healthy and happy little dog. They went to court, paid their fines and after a conversation with the judge we were ordered to return him to the family. We did health checks and it appeared they had learned their lesson. The thing is some people learn and some should never own and animal again.
