EDIT TO THIS COURTESY POST: The family who owns Edison loves him very much and they are trying very hard to get on their feet in Fayetteville. Fayetteville Animal Services has generously boarded Edison temporarily but unless he finds a foster SOON he will be adoptable through FAS. As of 5 pm August 26th, to be exact. Edison's family needs to find him a foster or MAYBE a forever home. They are in a rough situation and are staying at a homeless shelter for a while till they get on their feet, and their precious Eddie is in need of a place too. Here is what his family said about him:

Edison is a housebroken 4 year old double merle Australian Shepherd. He's neutered and UTD on vaccines. He appears to have decent hearing, sometimes selective. And his vision seems decent although we think he has some depth perception issues because he will put his paw in the water dish before and while drinking water. He might be nearsighted because he doesn't always react right away to people walking up to him but when they get closer he gets very excited. I don't know his exact weight, we joke that he is mostly hair. We have had him since he was 5 weeks old and he is used to having someone home with him for most of the day. But he adapts pretty quickly to stuff. I usually give him a treat of some kind if I know he is going to be home alone.
He has been around other dogs his whole life. He has been around both big dogs and small dogs and went to doggy daycare a lot. So he is very well behaved and socialized with other dogs. He is very friendly with people and wants to say hi to everyone. He is vocal. He doesn't usually bark unless someone knocks at the door. But he does what my mom calls Woo Woos. So he talks like a husky, I guess would be a good way to describe it.
We walk him a lot. He would go on evening walks to the Gentry Public Park. He can walk with or without an anti-pull harness. He doesn't really like the harness but he will wear it. He is strong on a leash so that is why we have him wear the harness.
He can be very excitable/reactive when he sees people or other dogs when we are out and about. But he has never shown aggression. He whines and pulls on the leash when he is excited to see others. He is playful and likes his chew bones and squeaky toys. He loves food and will eat pretty much anything. He eats 1 cup of food 2 times a day. He eats Purina dry dog food. But he adapts to whatever food he gets, not a picky eater. I would recommend feeding him away from other dogs due to the fact that he loves food so much, he will go to other dogs' food bowls and see what is in their bowls. He has never shown food aggression but he doesn't take food nicely from hands. He usually is very excited by food/treats so if you give him treats, place them on the floor or watch your fingers.
He doesn't know the meaning of personal space and will paw you for attention and he has been known to sit on me like a lap dog. He is very tactile and loves getting cuddled. He does seem to have some anxiety but obviously the current situation doesn't help that. He is not on any medications for anxiety. He has never caused any destruction due to the anxiety either, but again, given everything that has happened he might do stuff he wouldn't normally do.
He has a lot of nicknames. He is usually called polar bear. The weirdest quirk he has is that he smiles/grins at people. So it looks like a snarl but he usually does it when he is excited and he usually does it with people he knows.
He is spoiled rotten and he knows it. He is our big baby boy and we love him very much! He has been more stressed lately because we put our senior dog down recently and he does miss her. I am not sure how he would do with kids. He seems polite with them when we go out and about. But living with them might be another story. So I would say teenagers or adults only. He has never lived with a cat but we did have guinea pigs and he never bothered them.

Handsome, super cuddly Turbo is looking for a forever or foster home! He was recently trapped in the engine of a vehicle and was rescued by a Decatur fireman. Thanks to Gentry Veterinary Clinic, Turbo is on the mend! He'll require a quiet crate for the duration of his recovery. He had surgery to place a pin in his leg and also has a broken hock. Edit: Scout and Jana have been adopted!

These little 18-month-old cuties are looking for forever homes! Both are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. They are fine with other dogs, cats and chickens. They're trained to use the doggie door and go outside to potty, or use puppy pads.

The senior chihuahua we offered for adoption met his new family today! His 2 doggy sisters took to him right away. His new person is incredibly nice and has a heart for older dogs. It just felt so right! Congratulations to our sweet old man and his new family!

EVERY CHI HAS BEEN ADOPTED! :D

We have chihuahuas! These young little dogs are looking for new homes or fosters. The 2 blonde ones and the black/tan one with a collar are females. They are all still nervous, as they've only had one owner their entire lives and are getting used to new people.

If you adopt one or more of these pups, it will be a true rescue with work involved for both the adopter and dogs. These were lap dogs in their previous home and they are just now learning that other people can be their friends, too. The ideal home will be calm, quiet and patient. As with all rescue dogs, they will repay you 100-fold in love over time.

This is Ollie! He is a 5yo Border Collie who LOVES people! He's current on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. Ollie will need patient, close supervision when greeting new dogs as he is not used to dogs aside from the ones he lives with now. He loves swimming, is good on a leash and isn't a jumper!
