A little late but Callie is 2 months old! She is just over 3 lbs and all over the place. She loves to play and cuddle. It’s amazing to think of all that she’s gone through and where she is today, so glad she’s part of our family ❤️🐾

It has come to my attention that this man has been using the name Edward’s Dachshunds, very similar to ours but his includes an apostrophe in Edward’s and ours does not. He is a scammer and not associated with our Edwards Dachshunds. Please be on the lookout for him and report him so that we can stop him. We have changed our name to include of MI so hopefully that will help differentiate us from him. Thank you!

❤️🐾 Callie 6 weeks 🐾❤️ She is all over the place, loves to run, jump, climb, play and chew on everything. She is starting to get really excited when she sees or hears us and loves to give kisses and cuddle. She seems to somewhat recognize her name, or maybe she just wants attention when we call her lol. She is eating solid food 3x a day and drinking her formula from a bowl at meal times. She still loves her bottle before bed too and helps her sleep through the night now. She hit the 2 lb mark the other day and seems to get bigger every day. It’s hard to believe how small she was when she was born and how far she has come! She is so playful and fun, just have to watch our step when she’s awake because she moves fast and loves to follow us or Rosie around. We are starting to work on potty training outside and she seems to be getting it so far. Rosie is doing a lot better with her. She is very curious with her still, tries to get her to play with her and loves to bring her toys for her to play with. I think they are going to be besties after all! Videos coming! For some reason they wouldn’t let me add it to this post 😊❤️🐾🐶

One month already! She’s up to 1 1/2 lbs and all over the place. She loves to play with her toys and chew on everything. We tried starting soft dog food this week but she hasn’t figured it out yet. Can’t believe how fast this month has gone and how far she’s come. 😊❤️🐶

Girls had their vet checks today. Rosie is healing nicely from the c-section and almost back to normal weight and Callies skin infection is doing good. The vet wants us to continue with the cream for another week just to make sure it’s all gone. She said she couldn’t believe how much Callie has grown and is so much more alert than even a week ago. She said she is officially out of the woods and we can start weaning her. 😊❤️🐶

A few days late but Callie is 3 weeks and doing well. Her eyes and ears are open and she is walking all over the place but still loves to cuddle. She is already doing great on potty training, gets up and goes right to the p*e pad when she has to go. She’s getting a little personality and likes to play. She loves her new “litter mates” ( stuffed animals) in her bed. She was just under a pound at 3 weeks. She had a little skin infection on her face this past week but with some topical cream and antibiotics it’s getting better. 😊❤️🐶

Can't believe Callie is 2 weeks old already! She is doing so good, she loves to eat and is up to 8.45oz already. When she's done with her bottle she like to find her paw and goes to town sucking on it, it's so cute! Her eyes are starting to open and she's really getting around when she's not eating and sleeping. She has started getting up on all fours for a second but then falls over but that's progress and by the end of the week she should be walking around. She has also started going to the bathroom on her own sometimes, which means more bedding changes and laundry for me. 😀 it hasn't always been easy but it so rewarding to know that we have helped her live and thrive. Rosie is doing great too, still not much interest but is very protective and concerned about her when she makes noises and checks in on her often. I try to get them to cuddle a little bit after every feeding so hopefully they will get along in the future 😊❤️🐶

Just wanted to give an update on Rosie and the puppies. It’s been an emotional and exhausting few days. Rosie gave birth to one puppy at home Sunday morning but all labor stopped right after, we waited for a few hours to see if she would start going again but didn’t so we took her to the Emergency vet in Grand Rapids where they did a c-section. She had 3 beautiful baby girls. Two of the puppies were really small and one was struggling after the c-section and they didn’t think she was going to make it. She pulled through and we were able to take Rosie and the puppies home later that night. The two smaller puppies were having a hard time nursing and Rosie’s motherly instincts just weren’t kicking in, probably from everything she went through and the c-section. We started bottle feeding the two little ones and they were doing ok but had a hard time latching and would tire fast. The littlest one ended up passing during the night Monday and the other one later Tuesday morning. The remaining one seemed a little off too so we gave it some sugar water and she perked up. We took her to the vet and they think she was starting to go into hypoglycemic shock from not getting enough milk from nursing and the sugar water saved her life. Her temp was low when we brought her to the vet and she had lost almost an ounce since birth so they recommended starting to bottle feeding her to make sure she’s getting enough milk. She seems to be doing good so far, just have to get her to gain some weight. Unfortunately with only one puppy left we won’t have any puppies up for adoption and won’t be doing another litter. Hopefully everyday will get better for her and she will be healthy. Moms doing good, recovering nicely from the c-section. 😢❤️🐶

One week to go! Rosie is doing great, seems like she has been a little more spunky the last couple of days, maybe she’s ready to be done and wants labor to start lol. Had her X-ray last Thursday and the vet could only see 3 puppies but it wasn’t real clear and she had a full tummy so there could be some more hidden in there. We have been able to feel the puppies moving around like crazy which is so fun! She is so big, looks like she’s ready to burst! We are more than ready for puppies and can’t wait. She’s going to be such a great mom 😊❤️🐶

Rosie was so excited to go for a ride today until she found out it was to the groomers. She had her whelping haircut today and her belly looks even bigger! Of course we had to do a little photo shoot with her new haircut and cute bows 😊❤️🐶. 2 1/2 weeks to go!

Rosie’s doing great, she is in her seventh week. Puppies are well over 3-4” and their bones are starting to harden. They resemble small puppies with legs, whiskers and skin pigmentation. Male and female parts have formed too. During this week the puppies will start to get their fur and continue growing at a faster rate. We thought we even heard some heartbeats with a stethoscope the other day! Mom is enjoying lots of naps, when she can find a comfortable position. She continues to get bigger and bigger every week, can’t imagine how big she will be in the last week, her belly might be dragging on the ground 😀 she’s going to be such a good mom and we are getting so excited! ❤️🐶😊
