Hi, my name is Katie and I am a new member of Free State Riding Club. I was a member back in the 1980's and have re-joined as my grand daughter is starting to ride. I figure if I am going to be at the grounds all day with her, I might as well help out. So I have volunteered and become an appointed member of the board to communicate club news and do fund raising to improve the club experience. My goal is to bring back the fun times, I remember growing up, showing at grounds. I will be reaching out to everyone as things begin to happen.
A little bit about myself is, I have lived in Bowie most of my life, I am married with one daughter, 2 lizards & 2 dogs. My step-son & granddaughter live here with us as one big family. I did most of my riding at Clayhill Stables. I was on their pony drill team & exhibition team until I got my own horse. That's when i joined Free State with a group of my friends and we actually had to ride our horses to the shows and back to the barn at the end of the day. Those were the days when we let our horses cool off in the creeks we had to pass through and had so much fun with each other.
I look forward to meeting all of you as we make our own memories in the future. I will be posting up coming events and fundraisers that will need your participation to re build Free State to what it once was.
