Gracie and Puggy were so fun to work with. Gracie focused on puppy training, and puggy (even though he was a bit older) was able to learn new things his parents didn’t think was possible! Older pups can always keep learning and it’s a great way to keep their mind engaged and enrich their lives even more.

This is what teaching a reactive dog should look like. Annie used to bark and lunge every time she saw a dog, due to her being attacked in the past.

Here we are at a healthy distance and working on her watching calmly at a distance she is comfortable with. By slowly closing this gap you are able to reinforce those good choices and nice calm behavior, while also building confidence. This is not an overnight transformation. It takes time, patience, and not pushing them past their threshold. Annie and her mom worked really hard and she has come so far!

Enrichment is an important part of having pets. It keeps them stimulated, especially when stuck inside on hot days.

**Great Tip** If your animals easily get bored and you have a large assortment of toys try taking and separating them into 2 or 3 groups. Then only give them access to one group of toys at a time and switch them out every couple weeks. This creates excitement for those other toys they haven’t seen in a while and keeps it interesting.

This is Simon. This good boy has come so far in his training. He loves his family so much he wasn’t a fan of letting other people walk by without letting them know he was there to protect. While this is a natural instinct for a lot of German Shepards we worked on building his confidence and letting him know they didn’t need that kind of protection, but rather it was ok to ignore the people and just keep walking. Great job Simon!
