Mornin’ from RVF!
Most folks don’t get to see rugged, long/hairy bodied hogs like these any more as heritage breed hogs are being replaced by commercial hogs developed for quick weight gain.
These are registered/papered heritage breed Tamworth hogs that originate from England. Some say that there is no difference in taste between heritage pork and commercial pork…there is a HUGE difference. Taste for yourself this fall.
These hogs will be available for sale by the cut at Rhine Valley Farm Market starting this September.

The “EGGSTREAM”
This morning (using our own mobile coop design - the “EGGSTREAM”) our birds were moved to their um-teenth location this spring. Keeping birds on fresh pasture is a mainstay of RVF’s egg and poultry enterprise. The benefits include new forages and bugs for the birds and, most importantly, constant renewal and regeneration of the land - not constant destruction and wearing out of our soil. And, oh yea, the eggs are truly excellent.
