Meet Beemo! He came to me on December 30th. He’s been one of the most mentally challenging fosters I’ve ever had. He would cry for hours on end and nothing I did seemed to help him. As you can imagine, this kept me up at night and stressed me out because I had a hard time not getting him out and soothing him. He came to me as a “stray” (clearly he had owners before being surrendered to the shelter) and he had an URI. He’s all cleared up now and he is loving his new friend Melon!!! No more crying for hours on end 😩 I would take him out and cuddle him when he took breathing breaks to comfort him. Until he’d start to attack my face, feet, and hands. 🤦‍♀️ he’s the sweetest little boy and while we have some work to do with his behavior, he will be a great kitty 🐈‍⬛ ❤️

Meet Melon and Tootsie. Melon is the grey and white one. Tootsie is the tabby. They came to me on the 25th at 4 weeks old. They had a severe upper respiratory infection and conjunctivitis which goes hand and hand with URIs. Melon is fat, happy, and relatively healthy. Tootsie was not. She was severely emaciated and definitely had a worse infection than Melon. I had to clean her eyes up to 3x a day because they were so inflamed and had so much pus that she couldn’t open them. The night before last night, she stopped eating. She also was not going to the bathroom. Yesterday, she declined further. I gave her subq fluids, tube fed her every 3 hours, gave her an e***a, tried a nebulizer, I tried decongestant drops, and of course her antibiotics. I held her from about 5pm to 3am. She seemed to be improving and she was even able to hold her head up and walk a little bit. At 3am, I decided to sleep until her next feeding at 6 because she was doing better. When I woke up at 6, she had passed away. She was cozy and had a comfy bed to sleep in. I do feel guilty that I wasn’t holding her when she passed, but I know she felt loved and passed peacefully next to me in her carrier. As for Melon, she stopped eating. I don’t know why exactly but I’m hoping that she’ll start eating again soon. For now, I’m syringe feeding her. She seems to have some kind of vision problems. I’m not sure how much she can see, but her vision is definitely impaired. It doesn’t seem to bother her at all and she is a playful kitten still! She will need extra love and attention now that her sister passed away. Enjoy the sunshine Tootsie ❤️

Meet Garfield, Stache, Sterling, Tiffany, and Crystal! I’ve been fostering them overnight for a friend a few days a week. They were super sick with bad URIs and sinus infections when I first met them and they’ve made huge improvements since. I started fostering them on November 17th. They have grown so much! They will be 6 weeks old tomorrow. I will be relieved when all of their symptoms are gone and I can stop changing my outfit between feedings! Lots of laundry 🧺

This is Beverly!! She is 2 weeks old and I only fostered her for a short period of time. Her original foster was out of town. She’s a tiny squeaky baby with huge demands for food. She would eat up to 20mL sometimes. It was so refreshing to have a healthy and fat baby again. She came to me on the 18th and I brought her back today. Her sleepover was uneventful and I’m so happy for that. She did have blood in her urine and she has accidents but other than that, she was perfect. She loves snuggles!!! I’m sad I only got to have her for a few days but I will enjoy sleeping for more than 4 hours at a time 😂

This is Diamond. I picked her up on October 15th and she was in really bad shape. I gave her subq fluids, did fading kitten protocol for hours, and tube fed her to preserve her energy. I bathed her once she was stable. She was a wreck and I did everything I could to fix her but it wasn’t enough. She got better and then quickly by declined. She died in my arms at 7:52pm. I’ve been putting off posting this because it hurts still but I want her to be part of my page so I’ll never forget her or her pictures. I find comfort knowing I loved her while I could and did everything in my power to save her but in the end, all I did was snuggle her and keep her warm. I played calming music for her and gave her kisses while we sat in the dark.

This is Aria and Archer. They’re about 4 weeks old with scabies. I only kept them overnight. I got them on the 9th and brought them back on the 10th. They couldn’t stay in the shelter overnight since they’re so young. I offered to foster for the night. I would’ve loved to have kept them, but I can’t risk giving Luana scabies. I would have to change my clothes and wash my arms every time I held/interacted with them since Luana is still in quarantine as well. It was okay overnight, but too much in the long run. I’d be going through like 10 outfits a day! 🤣 I bathed them suuuuuper good and did their first lime sulfur dip so we could get their treatment start ASAP. They are now with their new foster but I’m glad I got to meet them and love them even though it was for a very short time.

October 2nd I was contacted by one of my foster coordinators because they were in need of a foster with experience (yes I’m patting my own back) for a 4 week old kitten. She was only 1 pound because she was emaciated, had maggots in her wounds, obviously a horrible leg injury, and a URI. She was put on antibiotics and buprenorphine. On October 5th, she got her leg amputated. It was a super risky surgery and I wasn’t sure if she’d make it through. She did! She’s doing great now and she’s so strong. I decided to name her Luana. It’s German meaning is “graceful battle maiden” and it couldn’t be more fitting. She’s been through so much in such a short amount of time but she has fought through all of it. I can’t wait to see her all healed up! I hope she never feels that pain again. She will forever have a comfy bed and food. I think she’s got a home when she’s ready to leave me and I can’t wait to get pictures and updates when she does. She’s gonna be so beautiful.

Meet Acacia! She came to me on sept 14, 2020 at 2 weeks old. She’s now 3 weeks old and she is with my other 2 fosters, Tillie and Toby! She’s a little bit younger so she has some different needs but she absolutely adores them. I named her Acacia because her fur reminds me of acacia tree bark (see last picture). I had to tube feed her for a few days because she refused to latch onto the ni**le but now she eats from the bottle like a piggie.

This is Tillie and Toby! Toby is the orange boy and Tillie is the calico girl. They came to me on August 15th in a rough state. They were filthy skin and bones. They were found on a semi truck! They were about a day old when I got them. Now, they’re fat and happy. ❤️ scroll through the pictures to watch their eyes open and see them grow!

I’ve been putting off posting this. 😞

This is Elliott. He came to me on July 25th at 4 days old. He was fat, happy, and healthy! His first feeding was at the emergency clinic when I brought a kitten from the shelter to the e clinic. He went on sooo many adventures and he had no idea, he was asleep in his little crate. He had to come with me because he had to eat every 2 hours. When he was 11 days old, he started to go downhill. His breathing became labored and he sounded congested. Emma thankfully had antibiotics on hand so we started him on that ASAP. He just continued to get worse. I got oxygen tanks from my grandpa and made a little DIY oxygen chamber. He became dehydrated so I gave him subcutaneous fluids. He stopped eating, so I started tube feeding him. I kept him warm and with a full belly but it wasn’t enough. I ended up having him put to sleep on August 4th because his tiny body was starting to shut down. I moved mountains for him but it wasn’t enough, and that’s okay. It happens sometimes. I learned so much because of him. I’ll be able to save more little lives because of him. Elliott fought hard and was still trying to fight for his life but it wasn’t fair to him anymore. I didn’t think he would make it through the night so I decided to let him go peacefully. I don’t know what I would’ve done without Emma. I’m so thankful for her, my amazing foster coordinators, and the vet ❤️ enjoy the sunshine Elliott 💔🌈🐾

Meet Gloves! I picked him up yesterday to take care of him during the storm. He is 4 weeks old. He was probably hit by a car and it degloved his jaw. It’s also called an avulsion. This means that the skin was separated from the bone of his jaw. It basically just hangs there right now. He will get surgery to fix it tomorrow. He’s the sweetest little thing ever and he is so floofy. I have to flush his wound with saline after he eats to keep it clean until they can repair it. The last picture is of his wound. It is graphic so if you’re squeamish or don’t want to see that kind of thing, don’t look at the last picture.

This is Boots. She was 4 weeks old. I only knew her for a few hours. I was going to foster her while her original foster was out of town. At the shelter, they decided she needed to go to the emergency vet. I took her and we rushed to the emergency clinic. They decided to keep her overnight. I didn’t get to pet her, only talk to her. I was afraid she could’ve had a bad URI and didn’t want to risk giving it to my new bottle baby who I needed to feed once we got to the emergency clinic. They took X-rays and she had pleural effusion. This morning she passed away. The vet said it’s possible she had FIP. They think it was pneumonia though. I’m adding the videos on this post for myself so don’t watch if you’re easily upset.

Meet Annie, Alexander, Oliver, and Ichabod ❤️ I got them last night. They are 4 weeks old. They have a little bit of a URI but they’re still super playful. I still have Samson and Blake but they have to stay separated from these guys for now 😞 once these guys are better, they can all play together!! Yes I have 6 kittens. Yes I love it. Yes I am going to go crazy.

Welcome to the world Samson and Blake ❤️ they came to me on may 6th. Samson is the classic tabby and Blake is the spotted/mackerel tabby. They are beautiful orange boys. I’ve had them since they were 2 days old and today they are 15 days old. I didn’t post them until now because at that age, their lives are so fragile. These are my youngest fosters so far.

Edit on July 1st, 2020: Samson and Blake are actually females LOL

This is Savanna, named after Savannas Preserve State Park in Fort Pierce. She is 2 months old now and she will be ready to go to a new home tomorrow! She is getting spayed tomorrow. She is a very well rounded kitten. She can be playful, calm, or go into crazy mode. She loves to be held and snuggled. Shes super gentle when playing so I think she’ll be good with kids or even older people. Let me know if anyone is interested in adopting her and I can give you her information 😊❤️🐱

These were my first 3 kittens. All boys, about a month old when I got them and I had them for 3 months because they had ringworm.

I decided to honor Mick by continuing his work as a foster for kittens.

Mick was passionate about fostering kittens and helping animals. Another one of his passions was hiking. I’ve decided to name my fosters after hiking trails. The black kitten is named Jay after the Scrub Jay Hiking Trail. I chose this name also to honor Jay Cinelli, who was part of my family. The black and white kitten is named Cameron after the Cameron Wildlife Preserve. The tabby kitten is named Zion after the Zion National Park. These babies are all a few weeks apart in age. They’re all roughly 1 month old. They are sweet, silly, and messy kittens. Zion is a feral kitten. He is slowly warming up to me and other humans. He’s come a long way already. The other 2 were found as strays but are sweet as can be.
