Are you cat savvy? Do you and your older kiddos (12 and up) love cats!? Did you know that you could get all the kitty pets you could ever imagine by volunteering with the Catty Shack through Lost Pets of Amarillo?! The only way the rescue can continue to have cats at Petsmart is if we have volunteers that help care for them. Our current volunteer needs are:
Kennel cleaner that gives lots of pets:
One Saturday a month (2hrs 7am-9am)
Every Sunday (2 hrs 8am-10am)
Cat switcher (moves cats from kennel to playroom) that has 10 extra minutes to play or love on the cats in the playroom.
It is very rewarding to help these kitties!

We are PLEADING FOR HELP…Chewie is on day 21 of 84 of treatment for FIP. Without treatment, FIP is a death sentence. At the end of this week, we need to pick up his meds to continue treatment. The meds are around $750, we are currently needing around $500 more in donations to cover this lifesaving medication. He will have additional vet costs throughout this treatment, but right now our focus is these meds! Chewie has good days and bad days but the difference from the first pic (notice the eyes)to today’s pictures is night and day. The meds are definitely WORKING! He is able to walk, he is eating well, he is alert, his eyes are completely clear…we have to continue with his treatment! Are you able to help us? If so, you can call Canyon Road Animal Hospital directly at 806-359-9465. Chewie is listed under Kitty Korral and please say donation is for “CHEWIE’S FIP MEDS”. You may also donate through the links listed below and write “CHEWIE” in the memo. I personally want to beat this horrible virus, to commemorate the ones we have lost because of it! We truly appreciate any amount you can spare-no amount is too small.
