We rescued Super Hedge (Marceline - also known as Marcy) in 2015, from a family who started travelling and couldn't spend enough time with her anymore. I'd been going through a rough time as a Student, and I had a few weeks off, so I spent roughly 6 hours a day bonding with her during that time. She really keeps me calm during my struggles with mental illness; we nap, watch movies, play video game
s, and go to the park, amongst other things. We built her cage by ourselves, and that's when I realized that there weren't many options for nerd/geek themed accessories. It was also cheaper for me to make my own accessories rather than pay some outrageous shipping fee from the US. Thus, a year later, the Canadian Quill Zone (a play on Sonic's "Green Hill Zone") was born! I decided that I wanted to keep prices low, despite licensed fabrics being more expensive, in order to let others have a chance to have more geek and nerd in their pets' life. Mostly, I just enjoy seeing other pets having a blast with their new item. Whatever profit I do make goes towards saving for Marcy's vet bills (she's had one oral surgery so far), and we appreciate any help we can get! Our Etsy shop doesn't list cubes, tubes, hammocks, pyramids, etc, but we do make them, and often sell or trade them locally.
