I still can’t believe I’m writing this, but I wanted our friends to know that we lost Nim (Ifrinnach Cassandra) very suddenly last Saturday at 18 months old.

Nim was our absolute world, centre of the household to all the other cats and the most amazing mum to Heck.

The only comforts are that it was quick and there is no risk to the others in the house or the breeding lines.

She will always be incredibly special to us and everyone who knew her.

Needless to say we are absolutely devastated, so if we’re not ourselves for a while we hope you’ll understand.

Hi everyone, between ourselves and some other breeders we’ll be looking for a few adult rehome homes in the near future.

There’ll be mixed criteria for whether the homes need to be only pet or can live with other cats etc.

Why adult rehomes? Well a number of reasons.

Firstly, because we don’t overbreed our girls and strive for genetic diversity, a queens breeding life can be finished as early as 2-3 years old. With a life expectancy of 15+ we would quickly become overrun with ex-breeding queens and wouldn’t have space to make more babies.

Secondly, when a girl gets spayed their place in the hierarchy changes and they can become very unhappy in their current home. Moving them on to a home where they can either establish their own hierarchy or join an established one afresh gives them a whole new lease of life.

Thirdly, a loving pet forever home where they can be the centre of attention and adored (rather than being lost in a large multi-cat household with constant changes) is the best thank you we can give them for the joy they give to so many.

If you think you’d be interested in an adult rehome or know someone that could benefit from having an Asian in their life but maybe can’t deal with the kitten stage, send us a message and we can have a chat.

BREEDER/VET/VET NURSE/EXPERIENCED CAT PEOPLE FRIENDS.

Heck is a pain in the arse and refuses to even try dry food. She’s 10 weeks old now and being a singleton, was late moving on to solids (around 6 weeks). But she’ll only eat wet food which is going to be a problem in the long run.

I’ve tried putting some bits in her wet food but she just eats around them.

Any advice/tips/tricks would be much appreciated

Welcome to Sunndach Cats!

We are small scale breeders of Asian cats, priding ourselves on our commitment to prioritising the welfare of our household and kittens.

Our first queen is GrCh Ifrinnach Cordelia, pet name Mayflower or Moo. She is sweet but sassy, endlessly silly, and far too clever for her own good.

She has been up to Bathgate this week for her final round of health checks before hopefully heading to stud...

So in addition to yesterday being a great day for Ifrinnachs and for the Asian breed, it was also a great start to showing for Elsie May with Noo!

Elsie May is going to be joining the Young Exhibitors Stewarding (YES) scheme and is, dare we hope, a breeder and judge of the future!

If you see her at shows please say hi and if you have room for a second steward, let her parents know ☺️

It wasn’t just a great day for Ifrinnach’s yesterday but an incredible turnout of Asians generally! So good to see Erica Bates and Sam Redmond with their beasties and a huge congratulations to Sam for his BOV Kitten, overall Best in Section and then top three at Best in Show! Lovely to meet you

It was a very proud breeder day yesterday and wonderful to see this lot again!

Ifrinnach Hamlet (Muck/Tabby boy)
Ifrinnach Horatio (Barra/Spots)
Ifrinnach Ophelia (Noo)

At their first show run by Chester and North Wales Cat Club! They all did so well and loved all the attention. Those boys are HUGE though. Bigger than Dora (who spent most of the day with a big case of the sillies).

Thank you so much to their new owners for bringing them along, hope to see you all again soon
