Lilac (Syringa spp) are remarkably fragrant spring flowers. These delicate blooms add a splash of beautiful purple, pink or white to your garden. They will attract bees and other pollinators to your garden as well! These gorgeous shrubs also happen to be pet safe. Though considered non-toxic, pets can still experience upset stomach if plant material is ingested. Use caution to differentiate these non-toxic plants from the more toxic Chinaberry (Melia azedarach), also called Persian lilac or Indian lilac.
