🐶 Cooper made a big move today. He went to Ms Donna’s for foster to adopt. Their introduction went well. But Donna’s current dogs, Stella and Stanley need to learn to love Cooper too! Cooper is shy and slow to warm up, but we are happy to report that Mr Cooper is relaxing with his new Momma Donna tonight and our hearts are happy!!🥰. Asking for prayers and good vibes that Cooper adjusts well and for his new fur brother and sister to become his new buddies!!

🐶Cooper taking a morning walk with his foster family. He enjoyed the brisk air and sunshine. After heartworm injections, only leash walking is allowed for 30 days to keep the animals heart rate down.

Do you like to take walks? Cooper maybe the dog for you! He walks well in a leash and enjoys a morning ans evening walk. He never pulls and acts nicely when he sees other people and dogs passing by. New Beginnings Animal Rescue

🐶Cooper is home from his Heartworm injections and he did GREAT!!! He is still a ball of energy, which we will have to work with over the next 30 days while we keep him calm. His body still has to expel all the dead heartworms. A prescription of  prednisone and a recheck in 2 weeks. Almost ready for his forever family. 🐶Dropped Cooper off for his Heartworm injections today. Good luck little man - see ya in a few days💙 Be strong!

💉If you aren’t familiar with HEartworm treatment, first the dog takes 30 days of  doxycycline. Then after that is done they undergo two injections, 1 one day and 1 the next. These are very painful ans the dogs usually feel terrible and can barely move or eat. The best comparison, I think, is similar to a human getting chemo. After these injections they go on  prednisone for a couple weeks. For about 30 days after the injections the dog has to be restricted in activity. The worms are breaking up and while this is happening the dogs heart rate can’t elevate or they may have a stroke/heart attack. After the month they dog is rechecked ans hopefully the HeArtworms are gone and they can start preventative and lead a happy normal life. This treatment costs about $800-$1000!!!

All this can be prevented if you just give your animal a heartworm preventative.... you can do this via monthly pill, or 6 month or 12 month shot. These preventatives are much cheaper to you and MUCH better for you animal!!

🐶Cooper is doing great after his neuter. It hasn’t slowed him down at all. He is still a ball of puppy energy and love!! We have been giving him some extra love since he’s been back. Next up for Coop is his heartworm shots on Tuesday and Wednesday. Getting closer to his forever family being able to take him home everyday!!🥰 -New Beginnings Animal Rescue

On this giving Tuesday, Mr Cooper went to Northgate Animal Hospital to get neutered. He was such a brave boy, he walked with the tech to the door all by himself!!But then he got scared and started freaking out and didn’t want to go in. The tech sat with him for several minutes calming him down and trying to get him to go in with her. The staff at Northgate is always top notch - full of compassion and REAL care for the animals they see. Thank you!!

Cooper still needs to undergo Heartworm treatment which costs anywhere from $600-$1000!! So if you feel compelled to donate, he would appreciate it. He’s getting so much healthier and closer to being able to be adopted and go to his fur-ever family.

What a different 2 months of love and food makes! Cooper is thriving in a home environment. He has gained 12 pounds (starting weight was 14 pounds) and is becoming more brave and social everyday! Are you looking for a little man to join your family? Cooper will probably be around 30 pounds when he is at his ‘normal’ weight and is currently looking for his fur-ever family!! In this fur family we eat together🍚. Even though Cooper was starved to near death, he has no food aggression and can be fed with your other animals and people too (although he does love drops of food from the table)!

💉It’s shot day!!! Cooper went for his 5th of 6 vitamin B12 shots today. He weighed in at 25.8 pounds!!! That’s 10.8 pound weight gain, way to go buddy!! He definitely feels better ans is full of energy. Still looking for his person, could it be you???

This is Moses.... he was brought to a vet half dead. The family that had him told his ‘finder’ they didn’t know what was wrong with him because they hadn’t checked on him or seen him for a week. He was starved, 20 pounds under weight, and half a degree from being hypothermic. He went to a foster for a day and then took a turn for the worst. He had to be brought back to the ER Vet. His labs were not good, they don’t know all that he has been through but to save his life he needed a blood transfusion and several other life saving measures. The rescue has just paid all its vet bills (total over $14000) and doesn’t have enough to pay for this guys treatment!!! The estimate so far is over $3000. This little pup deserves a better life.

💊Cooper requires pancreatic enzymes added to his food with every meal. For them to take effect, his food has to sit for 15 minutes once the medication is added. We make all the dogs wait for their food with Cooper.... as you can see these two 🐷🐷 aren’t impressed with the speed of delivery this morning 🤣
