🐾 Gore Doodle Ranch Families 🐾

Today, I’m feeling a mix of frustration and sadness as we witness Facebook taking drastic measures against healthy breeding practices. It’s disheartening to see them favoring shelters while sidelining those of us committed to responsible breeding of HEALTHY dogs!

Two of my posts have been flagged and taken down in the last 2 days. One I was simply sharing for a friend, a local breeder friend who follows the same standards as I do, in an effort to help her puppies find a home.

I can assure you that our puppies do NOT end up in shelters! Our puppies are microchipped and registered to both the puppy families and myself. Out of all the puppies I have raised only one puppy has been re-homed for extenuating circumstances.

Shelter dogs do not come from responsible and ethical breeders.

We live in the age of social media where everything we do, buy, sell, share, and educate comes from some form of social media or online marketing. ALL businesses use online marketing.
It is a double standard to allow shelters to use FB to find homes for dogs while punishing ethical breeders who use the platform for the same purpose.

There absolutely needs to be a middle ground where we can support responsible healthy breeding while also providing help to rescues that have faced so many challenges. Every dog deserves a chance, whether through adoption or responsible breeding practices.

So fresh and so clean after our first bath! 🛁 🧼

Today is the first step of potty training!
Once puppies start to potty on their own
we introduce a nest area (or clean area) where they sleep. When puppies wake up they will only take a step or two and p*e. We surround their nest with potty pads, spacing is about :
50% nest/clean area
50% potty area
Over time we will introduce potty trays with pine pellets, it’s truly amazing to see how quickly they get the hang of it!

HELLO 👋 WORLD! Lacey’s famous pups will be 2 wks old tomorrow and Scooby Doo gives us the first p*ek of puppy eyes. This means the transitional period has begun. Over the next two wks there are so many fun changes, eyes open, ears begin to open, puppies start toddling around, they learn the sound of their voice and become more vocal, they learn to lap up milk, and play with each other. I LOVE this stage because we get our first glimpse of their beautiful eyes and precious personalities.

Thank you Lisa for this precious Pupdate! My quote/unquote slogan has always been “raising your new best friend, one paw at a time”. For me, it’s stories like this that fulfill that statement and bring me SO much joy! I’m so proud of you Marley! 🥹 From Lisa : It doesn’t get any better than this. ♥️♥️🐾 A girl and her dog. We are going to get her registered as a service dog for Hayleigh’s anxiety. Marley is her world. I wanted to share. She took this for a pic she needed at school. 🥹🩷

The Prince & Princesses are 7 wks old today. As busy as it has been I can’t believe we are getting ready for go-home day already! For me, it’s a bittersweet time that I feel excited for their new families but also that pull of my heart strings because … I will miss them. 🫶🏼

Hungry growing puppies!!! The pups are 5 wks old and we are gradually weaning from Mama Lacey. I soften their kibble with warm goats milk, and add a little Firm Up dehydrated pumpkin with cranberry. Murphy & Maverick came to visit me and it made my day! I love watching them grow up, keeping in touch with our GDR families and love it when they get excited to see me again. 🥰
