In the Year 2000 after going 7-7 in NYSS in 1999. Gallo would come back as 3yo. That after a winter of training in Florida his starts were less than impressive, suffering breaks and loses . Some equipment changes and change of driver. He would win just about every stakes he entered. John Campbell would jump off after winning the elimination for the North America Cup and Dan Dube was named to replace him. He would win that and Mark Ford and Marty Scharf would choose to stay with Dan and he followed sweeping Meadowlands Pace and Art Rooney. August would bring some disappointment with a long bad ship to the Hoosier Cup. After Mark gave him some rest he came back in a NYSS at Saratoga and won a conference builder. He followed wit a A win at Sciotta in The Jug Preview taking a brutal trip parked yet winning which was likely his best race. He would go to the Little Brown Jug three heats. Just coming up short in the final. Ford said if it wasn’t the Jug he would have scratched him. The temperature was brutal and asking him to go 3rd heat was just too much. He would follow that in an open against older horses and won and than go on to sweep the Breeders Crown at Mohawk. Winning the 3yo of the year and being named The Horse of the Year. Gallo Blue Chip was warrior and brought so much pleasure and excitement to the sport.

Saddened by the sudden passing of David Brower, wow RIP back in 2003 as Gallo Blue Chip was starting to show some wear David was the Meadowlands line maker and would do some handicapping comments in the program. He wrote one night “why don’t they retire Gallo ,he will never win another Race” Gallo was entered in a restricted race that night and had drawn the 10 with Ron Pearce . I was so infuriated by his comment I called him up. He said it was nothing against the horse just his thoughts. Well Gallo won that night and Dave personally reached out to apologize for his comment. I respected him for that . He would always come over and speak with me with his smile after that. R.I.P. buddy.

Congrats to Linda Tuscanno on her first Pace win. It was great to be there last night and have tee shirts with Gallo Blue Chip's name on the back as a previous winner given out.

FINAL RACE FOR FOILED AGAIN SET FOR DEC. 31 AT THE MEADOWS

WASHINGTON, PA, Dec. 19, 2018 — Foiled Again, the richest Standardbred all time with more than $7.6 million in career earnings, will race for the final time in his incomparable career on a special New Year’s Eve card at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino. He faces mandatory retirement the next day when he turns 15. The Dec. 31 program begins at 5:30 PM.

An official retirement ceremony will take place in the winners’ circle following the race, called “Foiled Again’s Last Call,” when his connections will pull his shoes for the final time. The ceremony also will feature a video of Foiled Again’s career highlights.

In addition, the action-packed program includes the finals of six Holiday Claiming Series and the “Night of Champions,” when The Meadows Horses of the Year are presented their awards. Patrons will receive New Year’s party hats and noisemakers and will be invited to participate in the holiday festivities in the casino.

The “Last Call” not only will conclude the great gelding’s career, but it also will wrap-up his spectacular “Farewell Tour,” through which his connections — The Meadows-based trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and JJK Stables — campaigned him across the continent to create special events for tracks and allow fans to see him compete one more time.

This was no mere star turn, as the son of Dragon Again-In A Safe Place has won 10 times this year with a season’s best 1:53 at Freehold, pushing his career victory total to 108.

Among Foiled Again’s many accomplishments:

He was named Pacer of the Year in 2011 at the age of 7, becoming the only pacer older than 4 to receive that honor.
In that 2011 campaign, he won six $100,000 events.
· He was named Best Older Male Pacer in three consecutive seasons (2011-2013); only Rambling Willie has matched that achievement.

· In 2013, at the age of 9, he won the Breeders Crown Open Pace to become the oldest horse to win a Breeders Crown event.

This year, he’s been nominated for the Proximity Award, one of harness racing’s most prestigious accolades.

The Meadows next week will announce details of “Foiled Again’s Last Call.”

The same team who brought us Gallo Blue Chip Mark Ford & Martin Scharf is racing a NYSS 2yo c**t named Melodie's Major now 4 for 4 with two track records . Gallo swept the table as a 2yo NYSS Horse and won the title going 7 for 7 .Good luck to the Major in repeating the great Gallo's run as a 2yo.

The only knock on him is, he could have been Gallo Blue Chips regular driver but choose off of him after winning a $100,000.00 the Burlington stake in Canada to drive another horse, who we would beat in The $1,000.000.00 North America Cup elimination and final the next two weeks in a row . The rest would go on to become history. To this day I still say Gallo would have never lost a race that year, which he didn't loose many if John "The Boss" Campbell would have stuck with him but it all turned out good for everyone. Congrats to him on a well deserved night of recognition. We love and owe so much to Daniel Dube. Gallo's regular and all time win and money earned driver.

It\'s always fun to talk to a legend and I recently had such a pleasure. They call him Casey. With 11,038 career wins, Walter Case, Jr. is 8th on the all-time list of dash-winning harness drivers. He led North America in wins three times—1998, 2001 and 2002.
