We had a new arrival sneak into the barn and has in a short time, become a fast favorite! Cristallo came to us as an up and coming 5 year old from Germany! He immediately took to the trail rides and open pasture like he had always been here! He went to his first horse show with our trainer and had a great first show together! We are excited to watch these two together in the show ring and at home!

With all the storms we have had this summer we lost many a tree. We decided to plant several trees in our pastures to continue to maintain shade and happy horses!

As another Veterans Day comes, I am always at a loss for words. We can never understand what they have been through, everything that there is to say sound cliché, and there never seems to be enough ways to thank them for all they have do, for without them we would not have the freedoms, the liberty or the life we live. We want to say from the bottom of our hearts to all the Veterans, "Thank you for giving everything so we might have everything. Wanted to give a huge shoutout to our show groom Esther! Thank you for all your tireless hours of care and love for the horses on the road. It truly is a team effort, and her attention to detail is always appreciated! We are thankful to have her a part of our team and love having her on the road with us!

We are in love with our grey for days! Olaf made his way to the show ring and did amazing! Our new grey Cristallo is an absolute dream! He went to his first show with Shana and so far we are in love! Excited to see what the future holds for this team!

Reggie had a big day today! It's been a long 3 years with an amazing team every step of the way to get him into the show ring again. When we originally got him, he was quite unrideable and exhibited some potentially dangerous behavior. He would bolt at the jumps, and if you would touch his mouth, he would stop and kick the wall. Yet though all this we could see, he had a very sweet side to him. With the help of everyone at team Far Hills and lots of patience and breaking down the process of jumping, he has learned that jumping is fun again. It is always cool to see how much a horse can change with love, patience, and being able to process at his own time and pace.

Had an absolute blast in western Nebraska this past weekend. We were able to saddle up and ride in the beautiful sand hills of Western Nebraska. From great views to gracious hosts and making memories, it was a great trip!

We had the honor of having Blue Bonnet and their team come out and get to know how Far Hills came to be, what we are today, and how we do things. They have been traveling to different barns to learn more of how they can broaden their feed and make sure to meet the needs of their clients!

To help understand what a horse needs and what to do, we must first understand where and what a horse has done or not done.

Tex was bought off an auction video site unseen and imported as a coming 6-year-old. He turned out too strong for the amateur, and their personalities didn't end up matching. They put him out to pasture in January of this year and eventually reached out to us, and after talking, we agreed to take him on to see if we could help him find a good path. The first step is getting him back in shape and comfortable. How do we achieve that? Some of getting him back into shape can be achieved by our large pastures and relax into a new place and to make friends. We are also doing a rotating schedule of riding, free lunging, and days off. We have introduced some poles on the ground first in free lunging to see how he does and reacts to them and now added some into our riding. Shana has done a great job not to throw too much at him too fast and to ride the horse she has that day!

We are excited to start a new series to show how we work with our horses to meet their needs and to work with their personalities!

We gave Tex a couple of days to adjust to the new barn and our routine before we started work with him. Then we started with free lunging. It is a great way for us to get to know him and for him to know us. Tex has been started he just needs some time to grow up some more, and by free lunging, we can get to know his quirks and how he responds. It also allows him to move freely without having a person influencing them. Stay tuned for more parts of this series and more horses to come!

We are excited to welcome Tex to the family! Rex got sent to us after having some time off to have a brain break. We are excited to get him going again and see this sweet boy continue in his learning and developing!

Had a wonderfully time with this week! Thanks for coming up and for all that joined! Had some great rides. Worked on some lateral work and putting weight in the hind left leg. Always a fun time when Missy comes up!
