GREAT NEWS! Buddy is on a trial adoption with a wonderful human💜 Keep your paws crossed and hopefully, you will be seeing a happy tail adoption photo soon❤❤❤
Buddy is looking for a loving home in the Atlanta area. This 5 year old, 52 pound boy loves the company of his humans and other dogs but isn't a cat fan🙄
Buddy is housebroken, crate trained, not a barker and walks well on a leash. He has an adorable habit of holding the edge of his dog bed in his mouth and padding like a cat does(see video)💜
Buddy has only 2 faults...he doesn't like cats and he is a counter surfer but easily redirected.

How important is your dogs dental health? I wish that 15 year old Alma could talk so she could tell you. Alma was adopted from Atlanta Humane Society at the age of 2 in 2007. We rescued her from DeKalb Animal Services on 9/3 where she was taken by a neighbor who found her abandoned in an empty home in DeKalb. No replies from calls and messages to the owners listed on her microchip but we did learn that her former name was Rita. We like Alma which means "the soul" in Spanish or in her case, "the old soul"💖
We were hoping that we could have surgery on Alma to remove her bad teeth After a trip to our vet for a senior blood panel and urine culture, xrays and a thorough examination, our vets felt that putting her under anesthesia would be too much of a risk right now. Alma has severe dental disease and probable tooth root abscesses. It is believed that the infection is causing issues in her sinuses due to her periodically sneezing small amounts of blood. She also has a grade 4/5 out of 6 heart murmur, and a urinary tract infection😳😪
To add insult to injury, xrays identified what looks like a BB in her right side that has most likely been there for years.
One of our partner rescues in NH who loves seniors agreed to take Alma if we rescued her so she will have her dental done there after the antibiotics have had a chance to clear up the infections throughout her body.
Alma is a happy and active little girl and so deserving of the chance she is getting. We love this little spitfire and can only hope and pray that she gets a chance to outlive her horrible teeth and the damage they are causing to her little body.
I have heard many veterinarians say that it is better for a dog to have no teeth than bad teeth...we believe that Alma would agree😪💖
