🌟 DVM Spotlight: Meet Dr. Jasmine! 🌟

We are thrilled to shine a light on Dr. Jasmine, based at Newell Veterinary Services, who was kind enough to share a few fun facts about herself!

What inspired you to become a veterinarian?

“Growing up on a farm and watching my father, who is also an incredible vet, helping animals and making them feel better was my biggest inspiration that made me choose this profession.”

What’s a fun or unusual fact about you that most people don’t know?

“The unusual fact that most people don’t know about me is that I do modeling as well.”

Do you have any pets?

“Currently, I have none, but I would love to get a Golden Retriever one day.”

What’s your favourite comfort food?

“My favourite comfort food that just instantly makes me happy is an Iced Capp from Tim Hortons.”

What’s your favourite thing about living in Brooks, AB?

“My favourite thing about living in Brooks, AB is to be able to live close to my parents.”

Today, on Remembrance Day, we pause to honor the sacrifices of those who served for our freedom and peace.

🌹 The Red Poppy: Inspired by the poem In Flanders Fields, the red poppy represents the bravery of those who lost their lives in battle. Wearing it shows our respect and gratitude.

🕊️ A Moment of Silence: At 11 a.m., we observe a moment of silence to remember the brave soldiers who fought for a better world. This tradition marks the end of WWI on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

🇨🇦 Honouring Veterans: Remembrance Day isn’t just about the past. Today, we also recognize our veterans and all those who continue to serve and protect.

Let’s remember the courage, sacrifices, and the hope for peace. Lest we forget ❤️

Shanti, one of our dedicated RVTs, truly embodies our core values. She motivates the Fairview team, steps up for challenging cases, and consistently offers support without hesitation—even after hours. Today’s RVT spotlight is Emily from !

Emily can be summed up in one word: “Heart.” Her compassion for animals shines through every single day in the professional care she provides. Her dedication to her work and genuine love for animals make her an invaluable member of our team!

Not only is Emily hardworking, creative, and considerate, but she’s also a real go-getter. She is always eager to learn and try new things, especially if it means she can incorporate her passion for horseback riding. If there’s one thing we know for certain, it’s that Emily will get the job done—no matter the challenge. Even when her own workload is full, she goes above and beyond to ensure her teammates have the support they need 💕.

We are incredibly grateful for Emily’s dedication and the heart she brings to our practice every day! You rock, Emily!

As part of RVT week, we are excited to recognize Courtney Reason from ! Courtney is Rocky Rapids’ newest Registered Veterinary Technician, and she’s already making a huge impact. After graduating from her program in the spring and passing her licensing exam this summer, Courtney has jumped headfirst into her role with the clinic, embracing every challenge and opportunity that comes her way.

Courtney is not only practicing with compassion and understanding, but she also demonstrates incredible initiative. She’s the only RVT at the clinic on Wednesdays, and she consistently rises to the occasion, providing excellent care and support to our team and patients alike. Courtney’s eagerness to learn, ask questions, and step up when needed shows her commitment and dedication to her profession!

We are so proud of Courtney and everything she’s accomplished in such a short time. Thank you for being so awesome, Courtney!

As part of RVT month, we would like celebrate Amanda!

Amanda has been with the team since Aug 2016 and she exemplifies the true definition of an RVT—both in the clinic and outside of it. She is hard working, thoughtful, caring, smart, and very attune to the animals at the clinic and on her ranch. Her gift with animals includes chickens! Chickens will snuggle her much like a dog will be seen snuggling its owner. Aside from the quality of care that Amanda provides, her can-do attitude and willingness to get things done with a consistently calm demeanour makes her an absolute gift to our team.

Thank you, Amanda, for all that you do to make our team and the animals that you care for feel so special ❤️

Thank you, Peace River team!! The 6th and final NWT SPCA spay/neuter clinic of 2024 was a resounding success!

We are thrilled to announce that 23 dogs (14 neuters and 9 spays) and one cat neuter was the final tally in just 3 days! We extend our gratitude to Dr. Amy Murphy, RVT Vanessa Levesque, and Kristy Lacosse for their dedication and expertise. Great work, team!! 👏 👏
