For those waiting for news on the Fisher x Maple breeding, she is scheduled for an ultrasound to determine pregnancy on Thursday. Fingers crossed! We very much hope to have a litter on the way.

For those asking, Mina has finally come into season! The plan is Drake x Mina, and puppies would be ready to go home mid September.

Both are fully health tested - OFA hips, eyes, elbows and echocardiograms. DNA testing completed through PawPrint genetics. Both Drake and Mina are AKC JH titled, and both work as hunting dogs on a private preserve. Both are loved house dogs and have the temperament you'd expect from a Labrador - confident, friendly, good with dogs and people including children, are exceptional working dogs.

Mina was bred by Mike Suttle for his detection dog breeding program. Drake was bred by me, and serves as a full time hunting guide dog for his owner. They are both environmentally rock solid. You'll find their pedigrees links below, and that will take you to links to their health testing.

Both are very strong, powerful dogs that live to work but relax happily in the home. They are exceptionally stable and clear headed, and crate and kennel well.

Puppies will be raised with Avidog protocols and a whole lot of effort will go into their first eight weeks here with us. They will be litter box trained, which makes housebreaking a breeze. They will be microchipped, have their first set of vaccines, be vet checked and extensively socialized before their go-home day.

These puppies will make excellent sport dogs, hunting dogs, SAR candidates, or excellent candidates for any type detection work.

Congratulations to two teams for their recent accomplishments. 🏆

Lukas and Jane (Chaos x Ellie) both passed their first stage certifications this weekend for FEMA. Jane for Live Find, Lukas for Human Remains.

It is their foundational skills assessment - aggression test (human and dog), off lead heeling, emergency stop, agility (climb a 10 ft ladder up 6ft, plank walk 6ft in the air) tunnel, wobbly surface, slick surface walk, moving plank. Long down stay (5min).

Then they do an indications station where they committ to odor for 30 seconds barking,
Then they have to do a blind search - up out of sight and alert.

Very impressive accomplishments for both dogs and their owner/handlers. Congratulations and thank you for trusting me to provide you with your partner in search!

The rest of the week calls for lessons, training and agonizing trips to New Jersey to complete echocardiograms on current breeding dogs. That will finish up ALL of the heath testing for this group this year, for which I went above and beyond including running bloodwork on everyone this past week.

The plan is 2 litters in the spring/summer. Hopefully the timing is right and this all works out seamlessly.

I'm working on fully updating my website when all results are in, and when it's all complete there will be one place to go for information about all of my dogs. I'll post the link next week.

If you are interested in a puppy from me, you probably know the care I take with each litter and how much easier training and housebreaking is when they already have a start with me in my home.

Watching this young dog develop in the hands of people I trust is so unbelievably rewarding. Not to mention her littermates out there doing BIG things.

Big brag! We have a newly titled AKC Junior Hunter! Congratulations to Melissa Sartori with her dog Drake who put in all kinds of hard work to complete their final leg of their AKC JH over the weekend. Drake is bred and co-owned by us, and we look forward to this exceptional dog being a part of our future breeding plans.

Drake and Melissa work full time on a hunting preserve, so making this title happen was a huge amount time away from their “real job” on the weekends. They nailed every attempt and received so many compliments along the way.

Drake was notice regularly by judges for his marking skills, his speed and intensity combined with exceptional manners.

So proud of this team!

Another pass for Drake today, he now has 3 legs toward his AKC Junior Hunter Title. Today was a very tough test day and the weather did not make it any easier! Congratulations to Melissa Sartori, his co-owner, for guiding Drake to another successful test day. Drake and Melissa work full time on a hunting preserve, so carving out the time for tests is an act of true dedication and hard work.

Congratulations to Melissa Sartori with her dog Drake who earned their first leg and an orange ribbon in an AKC Junior Hunter test today! He nailed all of his retrieves and looked incredible out there! The test was extremely challenging and the judges loved Drake, and commented on his enthusiasm, marking and trainability. He scored 9s and 10s across the board.

Drake is a full-time hunting dog on one of our local preserves and he has lots of experience and talent. Kudos to Melissa for taking him to test and doing the things!! There is nothing more rewarding as a breeder than seeing your dogs succeed and be loved by their people enough to invest so much time and energy into their dog’s education.

Testing is tougher than in looks as it’s a very different picture for the dogs. I am so proud of this team for getting out there!

Maple picking up a memory mark today, starting her on some simple doubles and she’s doing great. Love the intensity, biddability and clear thinking in this dog. These doubles will get more complex and less visible over time as we work to build her marking memory and give her lots of opportunities to experience success.
