BIG BUNNY NEWS 🐇🎉

We've adopted a new bunny, who we've named Henry!

Henry is a tan, orangey lop. We got him from a shelter nearby that said his previous owners had become overwhelmed and too busy to care for him.

He's still adjusting to our household chaos but already loves the treats and his new Small Pet Select bunny castle.

P.S. This will be a true journey. Losing Baby was one of the hardest things I've had to go through in life, and he will forever be loved. We know we will have a different bond with Henry. We will have to earn his trust as rabbits are primarily prey animals and naturally nervous around big hoomans!

Calling all animal lovers! Your help is needed!

Petco has decided to sell rabbits, reversing a decades old decision.

This decision will:
-lead to more people buying rabbits on a whim, without educating themselves first
-encourage a harmful breeder culture
-put rabbits in the store in a position without proper food/housing conditions (photos are already circulating)

We wouldn't do it to dogs and cats, so why are we doing it to rabbits?

Please sign this petition to let Petco know this is NOT okay!

I was looking through Craigslist and saw this bunny for sale.

It's crazy how rabbits have been bred in the same horrible ways that dogs have been. And yet, there are no rules or social pressures to stop.

The healthiest bunnies are the ones that are closest to their wild brethren. Those cute, flat faces can also cause a lot of health issues: http://cuzrabbits.com/2021/02/01/bunny-beauty-content-is-your-bunny-scientifically-the-cutest/

I would never fault anyone for owning a rabbit like this. All rabbits deserve love and did not choose this for themselves.

But we as a society have to stop thinking this is okay.
