I really love diving into the genetics of these dogs, especially color production. A lot of people really like tricolor dogs. So analyzing just one of my dog's DNA, and we can see the odds of producing tricolor even though he's solid blue. Makaveli, for instance. Let's look at the data.

# # # Genetic Profile Highlights:
Makaveli has the genetic potential to produce tricolored puppies. Based on his DNA testing, we know that he carries the necessary genes for tricolor expression.
- **K Locus (CBD103)**: Makaveli carries the gene for a solid black or brown coat (KBky).
- **A Locus (ASIP)**: Makaveli carries the at allele, which is important for tricolor patterns (ayat).

# # # Breeding Requirements to produce tricolor:
- **Tricolored Female**: If the female is already tricolored, she carries the genes required for tricolor expression.
- **Female with Tan Points**: If the female carries tan points (atat at the A locus and kyky at the K locus), she can also produce tricolored puppies with Makaveli.

# # # Odds of Producing Tricolor Puppies:
- **With a Tricolored Female**: There is approximately a 75% chance of producing tricolored puppies.
- **With a Female Carrying Tan Points**: The odds can vary, but generally, there is about a 50% chance of producing tricolored puppies if the female carries one copy of the at allele and one copy of the ky allele.

Now there's so much more to dive into when it comes to DNA. This is just one that easily catches people's attention, but we can look into health testing and much more when it comes to the dogs. It really is a great tool to help you produce the type of dogs that you want to produce. If you don't currently genetic test, this is just one thing that would be very interesting to you, but you can dive in so much deeper.
