Funds needed 🙏

Having just paid a few vet bills our funds are almost spent. We're desperate for a refill on prescription medication such as antibiotics and pain medication with no money to pay for it. 💔

We're a small group that's totally self funded.

Here are just some of the beautiful birds that have passed through my doors lately.
I hope you enjoy the pictures and even a £1 donation is greatly appreciated 😊

Look how much he's grown in just 2 weeks!
He's one of MANY garden birds with us right now but he's such a fighter, I thought I'd share his story with you all ❤

He came in after being disturbed from the nest but he'd taken quite a fall, very bruised abdomen, very weak and in shock. I gave his chances of survival 50/50 but with some pain & anti inflammatory plus regular feeding look at his now.
The parents had done a good job this far and he was a big healthy chick, so this undoubtedly helped his chances.

He's been hand fed since and is now learning how to feed himself, with some encouraging 😉

As always, any and all donations go into helping these birds: food, feeding equipment, medication etc:

BABY GULLS EVERYWHERE!

Over the last couple of weeks we have been absolutely inundated with baby gulls that have mostly fallen from very high roof top nests so can’t be put back.
Mandy Lindop has set up a little gull nursery to feed and care for them until they are old enough to fly away. She now has over 20 and they are eating her out of house and home and costing her a fortune! Baby gulls are hungry little birds!

If you’ve got a fussy cat or dog and have ended up with any food they won’t eat these little gulls aren’t fussy and would love to have it.
Or if you could donate any type of tinned fish or meat, (pet, or human such as tuna or sardines), or dry cat/dog food we would be really grateful. They also go through loads of puppy pads and kitchen roll, they poo a lot!
Any food donations or puppy pads/ kitchen roll can be dropped off with any of us rehabbers who will make sure it gets to Mandy, or if you message we will arrange to collect locally.
If you prefer you can donate to our PayPal pool towards their care using this link:

Here are a few photos of some of the baby gulls including little Arya who was the one that was rescued from hanging on a wire last weekend with her best friend Dotty, they are so inseparable that Dotty accompanies her to the vets ❤️❤️

Just a few pictures of our babies, some babies are so poorly its heart breaking.
Please help us to raise some funds to purchase another much bigger incubator.
Brinsea incubators retail close to £600 for a medium sized one but they are worth every penny for our poorly and little ones.

We have a travel Brinsea incubator that is used by one of our amazing rehabbers but we need a bigger one to accommodate our larger birds and bigger broods

As always thank you for your amazing support

Feral pigeons get quite a rough deal.
Sometimes seen as pests and problems we at the rescue don't see this at all.

We rescue rehabilitate and release where possible.

Like most wild animals some need a slightly different hand.

Sometimes wrapping a pidge up to treat works well, as shown by Hershie (white pidge)
The scalped injured pidge needs to be dealt with differenly, having the opportunity of being cleaned and medicated with as little wrapping as possible and being allowed to perch works for the Bridie and the rescuer.

Sometimes you need to think outside the box.

I've also included a couple of avairy pics as not all are fit for release. 💔💚💔

Avairy cleaning days are the best.

No time to worry just crack on get stuck in and make their lives as fruitful as we can.

We aim to help as many wild birds as we can.

We have some amazing support and some birdies get more support than others.

Please support your local rescue becuase they will then be able to do more 💚💚💚

Sadly, this is not a happy post, but we feel it is important to raise awareness of an issue that many rescue centres see all too often.

These two sparrows arrived with us after being found tangled together with twine. With one suffering from an horrific leg injury, they had, sadly, not survived the journey.

Entanglements are a very common sight for all rescue centres, and so many of these could be avoided if items like this - fishing line, elastic bands and other types of line - were not discarded so commonly. If you do see line like this on the ground, PLEASE, pick it up and dispose of it, correctly. Situations like this are avoidable and you may well be saving a life by doing so.

Oh Poppy you have a little something on your beak. ❤
This little one came in very sick with internal parasites, she was very unweighted also. With some medication and some quality food she'll be ready for release very soon. 🐦

It's been a busy start to the baby season. We've been working flat out all year round as some birds don't have seasons💚🐥😂🐥💚

Our dedicated rehabbers are helping as many poor souls as they can.

Can you help us to help more.

If you can, please donate, any amount will help us greatly.

We are all passionate about the birdies we are helping and we would like to do more.

We are working towards extending and improving avairy accomodation but this costs lots of money.

Do it right the first time kind of mantra.

Thank you for the continued support from our followers and I hope you like the pictures.

The food picture is just one weeks supply for one of our rehabbers.
We buy our own food and we feed the millions of our rescues, own garden birds and local / outdoor pidges too.

We support feed where possible this helps to keep birds to controlled locations but we can't do it all we need your help.

Please feed all the birds where possible.

Please help where you can and please enjoy the updates.

Some can be very sad and soul destroying but someone has to do it. What we do it's very rewarding and we are all proud to be in rescue 💚🕊️💚

PLEASE HELP!

Yesterday we were called on urgently to do a mass rescue on a demolition site. We were told that the site manager was taking a roof off and there were nests underneath. The RSPCA and wildlife officers didn’t seem interested, but with negotiation Mark Bissoni managed to get the site manager to agree to hand the birds over rather than kill them. This was all we could do with so little notice 🐦

So with a few trips and a LOT of carriers Mark collected 22 birds of varying ages, some nearly ready to fledge right down to the tiniest babies! There may still be a few more to come. These will now be hand reared by us until they are ready for release in a safer place 🐦

As you can imagine this takes a lot of time, effort and money. These birds are tube fed a hand rearing formula and pigeons eat a lot! If you can help towards their care please can you send a donation to our PayPal, every penny is so appreciated! 🐦

http://paypal.me/pools/c/8ysEe8a1Q1

This the Amazon link for the hand rearing formula we use - if anyone can buy us some that would be amazing! Thank you!

Here’s some photos of all 22 little cuties. Another massive thanks to Mark and to the lovely Kerry Baldry for bringing this to our attention ❤️🐦

Released 27/02
Woodie Pepper
Ferals inc
Brom 1st group of pictures💔💚🎉
Princess
Plus 1
And 5 from the avairy awaiting a break in weather.

Brom has been with Helen since April/May, he came to her scalped and on death's door.
She was honestly amazed he was still alive
The finder found him bloodied and alone she picked him up and walked an hour to get home before she was able to seek help.
Brom was lucky that day because he wouldn't have survived the night.
He was caked in dried blood, we couldn't see his eyes it really did look bleak. Those pictures I won't post as they are bad.

With the help of An amazing team including Jenny Mason, Brom's life was saved.

We spent many hours cleaning, feeding and medicating him to give him the best chance.
I'm so glad to say we raised and recooperared an amazing boy.
Brom and 8 others were released yesterday.
Such a stressful but worthwhile day

Pepper a poorly woodie found grounded late last year by Becky in her garden.
Pepper was treated and rehabilitated and we just needed a break in the weather which came yesterday.

Princess was a feral baby who Christine Baylem another amazing rehabber started off with.
Princess was very poorly but again with some amazing intervention has made an amazing recovery.

These are just a few stories of the souls that your money and support has helped to save.

Our rehabbers go above and beyond to help where they physically can.

We cannot do it all without your wonderful help.
Donations would be greatly appreciated.
Helen bought a UV lamp and bulb to help a baby from Christine's page this alone was £60.
Gino is being looked after by Charlee due to work but our birds are recieving the best care possible.
An amazing thank you to our vet Sharon Williams Heswall Medivet and head vet Nurse Charlotte for their outstanding care.
You can make donations direct to our vets if you would prefer. Just quote Under Our Wing.

I hope you love the pictures because a bitter sweet day when animals you've cared for are set free but what a lovely set of days for it.

Good luck little ones it's been a slog but an absolute amazing experience for future birdies 💚 @ Ashton Park, Merseyside

🐦 TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY 🐦

Transformation Tuesday!

‘Little Louis came to me with awful canker, he couldn’t close his mouth because of it 😢. Aswell as that he had a deep wound on his back preventing him from using his wing. I really didn’t think he would last the night as the canker can block their airway and kill them when it gets so bad.
It took more than 3 weeks for the canker to clear.
The canker unfortunately ate away at part of his tongue but he’s adapted well managing to self feed chunky seed. He can also fly now but needs to practice as his wing is a bit stiff with scar tissue from his wound. He’s developed an attitude and shouts at me as soon as I’m anywhere near him! He’s not at all grateful that I saved his life! 😂’ - Sharon
